"Maya?" My mother stroked my hand. "It's alright, everything is going to be okay."

That was moments before the doctor walked out.

"Maya, a tumor was found in your cerebellum."

The words were taken out of my mouth. I was absolutely baffled and didn't know how to respond to my doctor. His hazel eyes sat over my body. His eyes and his lips both wore frowns.

"I'm afraid," he continued. "You only have 6 months to live."

That was the start of it all. My life spiraled out of control after those seven words.

The next day my mom got a phone call at exactly 5:55 p.m. My father's body was found in a motel approximately ten miles down from where he stayed with his girlfriend. His girlfriend at the time was nowhere to be found.

Kate Briggs, a thirty-seven year old female with a passion of reading, and a love for shopping, and money. Her ability to process things failed when cash was presented in front of her. She would do anything to get it, no matter the risk.

My mother warned my father about Kate. Everywhere that Kate went, death followed her. Now he would be proving my mother right.
