I was back in New York in a cab on the way to my apartment complex. While looking out of the window everything was looking familiar to me again and I took a deep breath because I can do this.

I thanked and paid the cab driver before getting out and pulling my two suitcases along with me. "Let me help" I heard a voice and I look up to see a tall and broad man with a stubble.

"Oh thank you" I smiled as he helped pulling my suitcases.

"New to the city?" He asks

"Nope just took a... little vacation you can say" I say and he nods.

We got into the elevator and I pressed my floor before it got quiet again.

"I'm Donovan, but you can call me Don" he smiled extending his hand out for me.

"I'm Valery, you can call me Val if you want" I replied shaking his hand.

The elevator doors opened and he pulled my suitcases out and I showed him to my apartment. I unlocked it and I opened it and Zack was stood there. He screamed before jumping on me and hugging me tightly. "YOUR HAIR!" He screamed and then screamed "Bitch I love you!" in my ear almost deafening me.

"I love you too" I smiled and kissed his cheek before he let me go.

"I'm so sorry" I said to Don as I turned around to face him.

"It's no problem" he smiled and Zack took the suitcases and brought Don inside.

"Would you like a drink Don?" I asked as we walked into the kitchen.

"No thank you, I'm starting a new job in an hour so I've got to go" He says.

"A new job where?" Zack asks

"It's a local bar" he replies and both me and Zack let out a gasp.

"I work there too!" Zack literally screamed excitedly and Don laughed.

"Really?" He exclaims and we both nod.

"That's good I know someone then" he chuckled and Zack nodded.

"I don't know if I'll be working there again" I say and Zack turns to me.

"Why the fuck not?"

"I've lost both of my jobs in New York I doubt your uncle will give me my job back" I say and Zack shook his head.

"Everyone at the bar is waiting for you to walk through those doors. And bitch I'm dragging your ass with me" he says before wrapping his arms around me.

"I really missed my best friend" he says and I sighed clutching to my best friend tightly.

"You should hang out here and then we all can go to the bar together" Zack says to Don and he shrugs.

"I guess I could hang out here with you guys" he says and we smile at him.

I changed into some more comfortable clothes before curling up to Zack on to couch sipping on some coffee with Dom on the other couch opposite us.

"So are you new to the city" Zack asks as we watch Don place his cup of coffee down.

"Oh no I've been living here for eight years almost nine" he says.

"Where did you work before the bar?" I ask him

"I still have that job. I'm a body guard in the mornings for a businessman and then I thought in the evening I want to do something different" he explains and I nod.

I was impressed that he was a body guard. He did have the body for it.

"But I hate my morning job" he complains making me chuckle.

"Your boss not nice?" I ask and he sighs dramatically making us both laugh.

"He's just so angry, stubborn and so annoying. He's going through a rough patch now because he's having problems with his girlfriend" he says.

"That's sad" Zack says and I nod.

"It is because he really loves the girl but is worried she's never going to come back to him. He is a powerful man yet this one woman has crushed his entire world. She holds his heart with so much power and truth be told he's nothing without her" he adds and I frowned.

"That's terrible, well I'm sure if he talked to his girlfriend they could sort their problems out" I advise and he sighs.

"Trust me he's trying"

"Well if it's meant to be one way or another they will find each other and be happy" I say truthfully and Don smiles.

"And I'll probably get a raise too" he says and we both laugh.

"We should get to the bar and Valery you're coming to see everyone at least" Zack says grabbing my arm and I frowned but obliged.

I was sat at the bar while watching Zack train Don on what to do. I laughed as Dom's large figure bumped around behind the small counter.

I turned around watching all the people flooding through the doors. All the fun memories coming back to me and how much I missed this place. This was my home and I was happy to back in the bar in this environment.

"So miss Valery how was your vacation?" I hear Don ask and I turn around leaning on the counter looking up and Don.

"Shit. I went away just to get over a kind of- I don't want to call it but like breakup? It's been really hard" I sigh and Don nods.

"Wow it doesn't even look like you wen through a traumatic breakup" he says and I gave him a little smile.

"Yeh well, I got hurt a lot in my life even though my outsides got better, my insides never really did" I say and I'm that moment I felt like crying.

All my emotions were just building up for no reason I was a bit to burst. But I held it all in.

My period is definitely coming.

"I'm so sorry Valery. You literally sound like my hopeless boss" he says and I laughed.

"He's probably not as bad as I am to be honest"

"Trust me he's probably the same" he says and I shrug.

"Don!" Zack screams and Don was quick to move on his feet.

I turned back around looking at everyone and my eyes landed on a figure in the corner. I blinked a couple of times before standing up. It looked like Shawn and my heart was rapidly pounding against my chest.

I made my way through the crowd of people to the dark corner before I felt someone's cold drink spill on my leg. I froze and looked to the side seeing a horrified girl. "I'm so sorry!" She apologises and I shook my head.

"It's fine don't worry" I say before turning back but the person had disappeared and I sighed before retiring back to the bar grabbing some napkins and wiping the cold spilt drink that was on my leg.

I sighed as I watched Zack tackle Don at the bar on the drinks machine making me laugh.

By the end of the night Zack was on the table dancing and singing his heart out. Damn I missed these days. Don practically lifted me on to the counter and Zack pulled me up, I took a deep breath before I started singing with Zack.

Everyone cheering while we were singing and bumping our hips together. I was clutching my stomach laughing at an older woman that started dancing with Don, who looked extremely uncomfortable.

Tonight was the first time in a while I've had a good night...
