Skylar's POV
I was already dressed and ready for my first day of school, so I grabbed an apple and started walking out of my house. My new school wasn't too far so it only took me about 5 to 10 minutes to get there. After getting my timetable for my new classes I leave the office and start to look for my form room.
"Finally found it." I muttered to myself.
I opened the door, which made a horrible noise causing everyone to turn their gaze towards me. I hate having people stare at me, it makes me feel vulnerable.
"Erm, hi." I breathed out.
The teacher, who was absolutely gorgeous and looked like she was in her early-mid twenties, turned to me.
"Oh hello! You must be Skylar!" She was really cheery which put a smile on my face.
Everyone's eyes still were on me and I was starting to get a little annoyed.
"That's me."
"Well, welcome to Norwest! This is where you will come every morning for registration and if you want you can stay in here at lunch break and eat." She spoke, her tone of voice unchanging.
"Thanks Miss Coalter." I replied as I read her name off of her binder laying on the desk.
"Oh please," she laughed, "Call me Rosie, I don't like being called my last name." She laughed and I joined in.
Her eyes started scanning the room and I'm guessing she was looking for a place for me to sit.
"Michael," She called out and a boy with bright pink hair turned around. "Please let Skylar sit next to you and your friends and if you wouldn't mind could you show her around?"
"Sure." His eyes landed on me and a slight smile formed on my face.
He motioned for me to go over to him so I walked over to him. He pulled a seat and sat it directly opposite him and I sat down.
"Hey Skylar, my name is Michael but this idiot over here," He points over to a boy with dark brown hair, "Calls me highlighter boy because of my hair."
I stifled a giggle at the nickname. "Well I think your hair looks cool Michael."
"Aw someone's got a crush on Mikey." The dark haired boy spoke. I sent him a glare but that only made him laugh more.
"I don't have a crush on Michael! I said I like his hair, besides I only just met him." I huffed.
I noticed next to me was another seat and was wondering if someone else was supposed to be here or if It was just a random seat. "Hey, guys. Who sits there?" I asked pointing at the seat.
"Oh, that's Luke's seat. He is on his way, he's just kinda late." Michael said,
I stayed quiet after that. I'm a bit surprised with myself, usually I'm a awkward person when it comes to socialising but Michael and the unnamed boy have been so kind to me it feels like we have been friends for ages but in reality it's only been about 15 minutes.
After a couple more minutes a boy walked into the classroom. He had blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, I also noticed he had a lip ring which kinda suited him.
"Luke, your late." Miss Coa- Rosie, said.
"Sorry, I overslept." His voice was nice and deep, and his accent was thicker than Michaels.
"You always say that." Rosie rolls her eyes.
"Well I oversleep a lot," he argues, and I try not to giggle but I couldn't help it.
"There's this thing, Luke, it's called an alarm."
"Yeah, yeah" He muttered under his breath.
Rosie dismissed Luke and he walked over to us taking the seat next to me.
"Luke, this is Skylar she's new." Calum, who's name I finally learnt, smiled.
Luke eyed me up and down as if he was checking if I were to fit in their group or something. Finally, he spoke.
"That's a pretty name, Skylar. I'm Luke." He smiled and stuck his hand out and I gladly shook it. I couldn't help but feel the slight jolt I got when Luke touched me, it felt as if it was electricity.
A/N I know this was bad but I promise it will get better. I hope you guys like this, it's my first fanfiction💖
