Chapter 4

Skylar's POV

The boys and I were just talking about anything, when my phone suddenly started ringing. I picked up my phone to find that my dad was calling me, I groaned.

The boys looked at me and furrowed their eyebrows, "What's wrong, Skylar?" Luke asked.

"My dad is calling me." I bluntly replied.

"What's wrong with that?"

"We aren't as close as we used to be.." My voice trailed off, I finally decided to answer my phone.

"Hello?"

"Where are you?" My dad's voice rang through the call.

"Gee, miss you too dad." I sarcastically said.

"Don't use that tone with me, missy," His voice suddenly turning stern, "Now answer my question, where are you?"

"I'm at Michael's house."

"Who is Michael?" He was really starting to annoy me.

"Ugh, dad what do you want?"

"I want you home right now, and your grounded!" My dad spoke. What the hell?

"You can't ground me! I did nothing wrong!"

"You were talking back to me, so I can ground you and I will."

I got angry so I hung up the phone and put my head on the table.

"What's wrong?" Calum poked my cheek.

I brought my head back up and smiled at him. "It's fine, my dad wants me home. Oh and I'm grounded for 'talking back at him'." I rolled my eyes.

They pouted at me, "We will miss you!" Michael shouted. They all engulfed me in a hug.

After that, I walked back home since Michael's house was close to mine. I opened the door to my house to find my dad sitting in the kitchen.

"Skylar? Come here."

"What?" I snapped at him, sounding a little harsher than I was meant to.

"Skylar..." His tone of voice was warning.

I sighed, "I'm sorry." I ran my fingers through my hair

"I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have lashed out on you."

I smiled, my dad rarely ever apologies' for things so when he does apologies, you know he means it.

"Now, you go upstairs and do whatever, and Julia will be home soon to cook dinner for us. I have to run some errands, I will be in the office room if you need me."

The smile on my face dropped. I hated Julia, my step-mum. I always feel like she was trying to replace my mum. No one can replace my mum. I nodded and sighed as I made my way upstairs closing my door behind me.

I noticed a had a new text and decides to read it.

I laughed at the fact that I only left about 10 minutes ago and he was already texting me.

I waited for a reply which took only about 2 minutes.

My heart fluttered at his comment, I spent the rest of the night doing homework, I ate dinner upstairs. I never eat when Julia is around. And I went to be around 11pm.

A/N I know this is short, and bad and stuff but I felt like I had to update today and I'm kinda out of ideas right now, I'm sorry ily <3 new update tomorrow :)
