Chapter 26

Skylar's POV

I was making my way to Luke's because he had texted me to come to his house. To be honest, I'm quite scared to see how this day ends considering my birthdays never go right.

I hesitantly knocked on his door and took a step back. All of a sudden the door swung open and I was met with an excited looking Calum.

"Your here!" He yelled as he grabbed my arm and pulled me inside.

"What's going on?" I asked as I scanned the house, it was deserted. Only Calum in sight.

"Well, Natalie told us about your past birthday parties so the guys and I have planned you an amazing day!"

"No, seriously, you don't have to." I complained. I didn't want a party. I didn't even want them to know about my birthday.

"Too late!" He sang as he continued to drag me up the stairs.

Once we got to the top I sighed, "Where to now?"

Calum looked side to side before, once again, yanking my arm towards the right.

I mumbled incoherent words under my breath. This is so stupid.

Calum abruptly stopped causing my body to collide with his, "Close your eyes." He grinned.

"No." I protested, folding my arms over my chest.

"Pleaseee." Calum stomped his feet on the floor as if he was a 5 year old throwing a tantrum.

"Fine." I grumbled.

I closed my eyes and felt Calum push me into what I think was a room. "And... Open!"

I opened my eyes to see my friends and sister in the room, my eyes widening in shock.

"SURPRISE!" They all yelled in sync.

A smile replaced the frown on my face as I scanned the room. Inside was; Luke, Michael, Ashton, Natalie, Will, Liz, Andrew, Jack, Ben, Andrea, Lia and another girl who I never met before. "Oh my god!" I cupped my hand over my mouth as tears of happiness sprung at my eyes.

Luke was the first to walk over to me, embracing me in a hug. "Surprise, baby." He whispered into my ear.

"Thank you." I smiled at everyone.

I heard a lot of 'Happy birthdays' and 'Have a good day' throughout the crowd of people. I turned to Luke, Michael, Ashton and Calum.

"Who's idea was this?" Giggling, I crossed my arms over my chest.

The guys turned their faces towards Luke as he blushed slightly. "It may or may not have been mine."

I walked over to him and pecked him on the cheek, "Thank you."

"Your not mad?" He furrowed his eyebrows at me.

"I was at first," I sighed, "But those birthdays were in the past, before I met you four." I grinned ear to ear.

Luke pulled my into a hug. A few seconds later I pulled away, "Who's that girl?" I asked as I pointed at the girl I noticed earlier.

"Erm, I invited her. I hope that's fine." Ashton spoke up.

I looked at him with my eyes slightly wide, this was the first time he spoke to me since our last conversation.

"It's fine, but who is she?"

"She's my date. I met her a few days ago." Ashton whispered as if he was afraid to tell me, I don't know why though, I'm happy he found someone he's taken a liking to.

"That's amazing!" I smiled.

I started talking with a few people that were invited and by now it was almost 6pm.

"Alright guys," Liz clapped her hands, "Please turn your attention to the front of the room."

Confused, I turned so I was facing the same direction as everyone else. I quickly turned my head to Liz and asked, "Where's Luke?"

"You'll see." She smiled.

I furrowed my eyebrows together as I turned my attention back to the front of the room.

Suddenly, Luke walked into the room. As he sat on the stool situated in the centre, he flashed me a quick smile.

I heard some shuffling coming from my left so I looked over to see Ben coming towards Luke with a guitar in his hand and Jack with a microphone stand. I smiled as I realized what's about to happen, Luke's going to sing.

"Erm, hi guys." Luke spoke into the microphone, "First of all, I would like to say Happy Birthday to my gorgeous girlfriend!"

The room erupted in cheers and claps as I continued to smile from ear to ear at Luke.

"I wrote this song for you a couple of days ago, Sky."

He wrote a song for me?

"It's called, The Only Reason."
