Zak POV
I glanced into the backseat and spotted Aaron passed out against a jacket made to be a pillow. Jay sat calmly next to him just taking in the new scenery set around us. When I looked over to Billy he was rubbing his eyes trying to concentrate on the road ahead.
Our lives revolve around our work. Always somewhere new to investigate, always spirits to communicate with and document. I'm so grateful I get to travel and do what I love with the people I care about the most. Their my family, always have been.
We just got finished with an investigation near Milwaukee, Wisconsin and now we're traveling to a small town called Riversmend. I got the call while on our last investigation, the voice on the other line saying that this will be big and everything was already set up for our arrival. It was very last minute but from what I was told, we had to go investigate. Now just to tell the guys.
"Guys, If I can have your attention."
I looked around and noticed I had everyone's attention except for Aaron who was still snoring in the back.
"Aaron." I said a little louder while Jay nudged him in the side. His eyes immediately sprang open.
"Dude I'm awake, I'm awake." He said rubbing his eyes intensely. Billy let out a small laugh.
"I know this is a last minute trip but our next location is a town called Riversmend. We will be investigating 3 buildings and we will be staying for acouple weeks. There have been sightings of ghost children, thrown objects, reports of people getting scratched, people claiming to see what looked like leftovers from rituals, and there is alot of dark documented history within this town. When we get there we will immediately go over to the theatre and talk with the owner. After the interviews, we will set up for our first lockdown."
"I can look up the history of the locations when we get into town. Find out more information." Jays voice came from the backseat.
"That's a good idea. I'll send you out if we don't need you."
"Sounds good man." He said while looking out the window."Billy, how much longer until we're there?" I asked him quietly.
"Um.." He looked up at the GPS quickly, "10 minutes actually." His eyes widened in surprise.
"Well that was quick." Aaron chimed in leaning over my seat. "What other buildings are there besides the theatre?"
"After the theatre we have a restaurant that is actually connected to the theatre, and after that is an old school located just outside of town. And yes Aaron, I'll make sure you get locked up in one of the rooms." I said smiling looking back at him.
"Dude." His facial expression changing almost instantly as the others laughed along with me.
We started coming up to a fielded area on both sides of the road, and to the right of me I noticed a perfect line of tall pine trees moving back and forth in the wind ahead. As I looked over past the pines, I noticed what looked to be the school from the description I received on the phone. It was too far out for me to make out alot of details, but I could literally see the holes in the windows and moss growing up into a massive blown out portion in the side of the building. I also noticed a black Ford parked out front.
"What would someone be doing there?" I thought to myself. I heard Aaron speak up from the back,
"Dude, that place gives me the creeps."
"Well your in luck man because that's the old school we will be investigating."
"No way..." He trailed off still staring out at the scene before us.
