Petty Argument

"Don't move!"

"Or what?"

"You won't be talking for any longer!"

(Y/N) sighed in annoyance and turned to Dante. "This fuck always says the same thing, he never goes through with it." They were standing at the end of an alley, Ein pointing a gun straight at their head. It was a regular day for (Y/N), stealing a little something from someone who wouldn't really miss it. This time though, they were training Dante Perez in the ways of a thief. They were heavily enjoying it, Dante not so much.

"I'll shoot you both!" Ein was the head of a fairly powerful gang, stealing and killing while bribing officials to turn the other way. Basically doing what (Y/N) does but with less truer intentions. "You know I won't hesitate!"

(Y/N) laughed, swinging the bag in their hand, "Oh hush, you love me too much!" In that split second when Ein was caught so off guard, they ran with Dante trailing right behind them. "Now that's how you trick a man!"

"Flirt with him?" Dante asked, looking over his shoulder. It didn't seem as though Ein chased the two of them. Thank Irene.

"Correct! Just lay on the charm and you can do just about anything!" They slowed down to walk next to Dante, smiling like a kid on Christmas morning. This was the second day of Dante's training. The other day, he was being taught on how to efficiently kill someone with minimum mess. That was a disturbing experience, to say the least. "Practically all my enemies want to kill me and fuck me. I think."

"Would Laurance and Garroth count?"

"What do you think?"

Dante thought about it. Did those two like (Y/N) that way? Laurance, maybe. His response to those sorts of emotions is to basically kill those emotions in any way he could. Garroth, definitely. That man could lust after just about anyone if they talked sweet enough. "Yes."

"Glad you figured that one out."

"Would I have been on that list?"

"Oh, for sure. No mean to be rude or anything, but you fall and trust far too quickly. Might want to fix that up. In this line of work, it does not help at all."

Fair enough, Dante thought even as he tried to hide his growing blush. It's not too fun being called out like that. "What about Travis, Aaron, and Zane?"

(Y/N) paused, momentarily coming to a stop. They hadn't ever pondered that before. "I don't think so? They know me best, so they'd know all the reasons why liking me would fucking suck. My personality is a little lacking."

Dante fought back the urge to protest. He personally believed they were quite the charmer. But he did only know them for a month or so. Everyone else had known him for over a year. A month compared to a year is certainly not a lot.

The rest of the walk to the base was spent in silence, only interrupted whenever (Y/N) told Dante about which streets were best to take to go unnoticed. Dante tried his best to memorize each street name, but his effort was in vain.

"The stairs are always the safest option to get back home, don't want to risk getting caught in an elevator," (Y/N) said as they pushed open the door. They were met with Aaron arguing with Lucinda over the kitchen counter.

"You can't just cancel it!" Lucinda said, her red eyes full of anger. She looked ready to strangle Aaron. When isn't she?

"It's not necessary!"

"Not necessary? This is a matter of security! Of privacy! You might as well shout to the world who you are, that would turn out better for you than cancelling the goddamn order!"

(Y/N) cleared their throat, walking up to the arguing pair. "Mind filling me in?"

"Well, Mr. Lycan over here is hard-pressed on cancelling the last order you gave me. You know the masks? The ones that are nearly impossible to get?" Lucinda practically growled the last part.

"We don't need new ones. It'd be a waste." Aaron said, his arms crossed. He was more collected than Lucinda, his anger and frustration cleverly veiled under a thin layer of annoyance.

"Mine's split right down the middle, I've been holding it together with glue. I really need that new mask Aaron.  If you think you don't need yours than we can give yours to Dante, lord knows he'll need that soon."

"Wait a second. Who's Dante?" Lucinda asked.

Dante waved, offering up a small smile. "He's the new recruit. Obviously," (Y/N) said. "Anyways, Lucinda you don't need to cancel the order."

That was that. (Y/N)'s tone made that clear. Aaron couldn't protest even if he wanted to, he would be in a lot of trouble if he did. Lucinda's smile was full of confidence and her arms were crossed against her chest. "You should probably head back home Luce. Don't want anyone to get suspicious."

Lucinda sighed, she would've done anything but go back to her regular life. Working for (Y/N) and the others was a side job, a way to earn some extra cash. It was a lot more interesting then her regular job (it also had a better paycheck). Working in an office and filling out paperwork was the absolute worst. She was practically nothing more then an intern. "Alright. I'll tell you when the masks arrive."

Seconds after Lucinda left, Dante asked a question "So who is she?"
