In which Max takes El out for a shopping spree, and Mike gets to see the beautiful girl he is happy to call his girlfriend so happy.

(request by @strangest_mel11) :)

El was quite sick of wearing flannels all the time. She finally managed to get Hopper to let her stop wearing overalls, but dresses weren't something he let her buy. She was stuck with boring jeans and flannels all the time, not the girls in the magazine's who wore long dresses and shorts all the time.

It also didn't help that it was absolutely scorching hot outside and El was stuck in jeans.

So Max decided, she would take El out for the day, for some shopping.

El was in absolute awe as they entered the mall, their tagline really worked for this very moment.

"Starcourt Mall has it all!"

The place was bustling with teens, girls and boys alike. They were left and right buying clothes and food, and Max dragged El into one of the stores.

"Take a look around and see if you find anything you like!" Max said, walking over to a rack of clothes adorned with colourful striped shirts.

El found a specific romper she adored, Hopper wouldn't care as long as it wasn't a dress.

It was black, with shapes in different shades of neon covering it in an outlandish pattern. It was sure to make her stand out, instead of being overlooked by everyone (except, I mean, Mike.) they would notice her.

She tried it on and Max cheered.

Max stole El's Supercomm, and called Mike, forcing him to take El to the fair in town.

Mayor Kline had set up the dumb thing, and El hadn't yet been due to an overprotective father. After a lot of convincing from Max, Hopper agreed. As long as Max and the other boys went too. Hopper was still suspicious about Mike, even though he really didn't need to be.

Mike and the others arrived all in good timing, as Max had just finished helping El with the shoulder length chestnut hair she was developing.

They left the small cabin, and began their walk, not taking their bikes as they wouldn't have a place for them.

Mike was trying not to turn red as a tomato, as El intertwined her hand with his as she talked to Dustin, who was being extremely enthusiastic over pudding.

El grinned at Mike brightly, and he grinned back.

When they arrived, Max, being the so called "amazing wing woman" as Max would say, dragged the other three boys away from the pair.

"Listen, uh, I didn't s-say anything when everybody else was around, b-but, you look r-really pretty, El." he looked at her sweetly, as she smiled widely.

"Thanks Mike." She smiled even bigger than before, if that was even possible.

"Now, come on, I wanna ride the ferris wheel!" She exclaimed, before taking off in the direction of the large wheel adorned with baskets.

She really was pretty. He wasn't afraid to tell her that when the guys weren't around.

And boy did he mean it when he said it. He believed El to be the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world, out of Hawkins, out of the United States, out of North America, El Hopper, to him, was out of this world.
