Joss' POV

I checked my image one more time in the full length mirror of my condo unit before I headed to the garage and drove my car to the TV LINE party that I had been invited to attend.

When I reached the venue there was already a big crowd. I could hear the loud dance music even before I went through the door.

All my friends and acquaintances greeted me as I entered the venue. I shook hands with all of them and answered politely all their questions of how I was doing. Of course I had to say that I was doing great. Well, technically, I was doing great. The modeling agency I was contracted with kept me busy doing modeling gigs left and right and that of course meant that I was receiving fat checks directly deposited into my bank account.

But in terms of love life ...... what could I say?

Well I guess I can't really say that I am lonely. My manager who was a workaholic made sure that I had no time to be lonely.

I took a champagne glass from the tray that a uniformed waiter was walking around with offering the champagne to all the guests.

"Whooops... sorry about that," I heard someone say as I felt him slightly bump me in the back almost making me tip the glass of champagne in my hand.

I turned around.

"That's alright, you didn't do any damage," my voice trailed off as I came face to face with Bas Suradet.

I knew Bas even if he had not been formally introduced to me. He was a well known actor and model and a member of the well known entertainment group called SBFive.

Why did my heart skip a beat when he gave me an apologetic smile.

Shit. I knew it was the smile that did me in.

He held out his hand to me.

"Hi, I'm Bas, Bas Suradet," he said, the impish smile making my heart turn cartwheels in my chest.

I took his hand and shook it.

"I'm Joss," I said, "Joss Wayar."

"You don't have to tell me your name," he said, the smile never leaving his face and continuing to give me an elevated heart rate, "I like the way you model men's clothing. They always look good on you."

If he continued to smile and say good things about me I was going to end up in a cardiac arrest.

"Did you come with anyone?" he asked.

"No, I didn't," I replied.

"Do you want to join me and my friends over there?" he asked pointing to a group of young men chatting and laughing together.

"Of course," I replied without any hesitation.

We walked over to his group of friends. He introduced me to each one and I shook hands with all of them. They were all very friendly and pleasant.

I told them that I knew all about their group and that I would sometimes watch their performances. I congratulated them on their success. SBFive was getting to be a big hit all over the country.

I enjoyed interacting with all of them but I could tell that within their group Tae and Tee seemed to be close and Kim and Copter seemed to be a pair. That left Bas all to himself. I wondered how he was coping with being a fifth wheel.

Well, maybe he had a strong and independent personality and could get along well with anybody. I admired him for it because he was the youngest in the group but he could stand his own.

As the party was winding down, I really wanted to ask Bas for his contact number but I felt nervous about being turned down. What if he politely told me to just give him my number and he would call me, something like when after an interview during a job application you are told by the company "Don't call us, we will call you."

I continued to make conversation with the group, but mostly with Bas because the others in his group were mostly immersed in their own topics.

Before I could lose my nerve, I turned to Bas and said, "Hey, can I keep in touch with you after this?"

"Sure," he said, handing me his phone, "put your number in it."

As soon as he did, he called my number and got his number registered on my phone.

We gave each other a buddy hug before parting ways.

I was practically doing a skip and a hop as I made my way back to my car.
