Bas' POV

P'Joss ended up doing all the cooking, as my nose kept running and I had almost finished up the box of facial tissues that P'Joss handed to me.

I wondered why P'Gxxod had video called me. I did not take it because I had thought that it would be insensitive for me to take it in front of P'Joss.

I helped P'Joss to set the table. The delicious smell of the stir fried beef broccoli made me really hungry.

"I wish I could cook as good as you do," I said to P'Joss after I took the last mouthful from my plate.

"I could teach you whatever I know every time you come to my place," said P'Joss with a smile. He had a very attractive smile. It had started to do something to my heart rate.

"That sounds good to me," I said, smiling back at him. He looked pleased with my reply.

I helped him clear the table and offered to wash the dishes for him.

"Thanks for the offer but there's no need," he replied, "I will just place them all inside the dishwasher and start the cycle later."

"Would you like to watch a home movie with me?" he asked.

"I would love to," I replied, "what genre did you have in mind?"

"I was thinking of a romantic comedy," he said, going through the choices that appeared on his TV screen.

I was fine with the one he chose. It had lots of comedic episodes but at the same time there were many parts that left me teary eyed.

For some reason the romantic parts instinctively made me glance at him. At one point, we both glanced at each other at the same time and before we could stop ourselves we had started to kiss.

It wasn't a passionate kiss at first. It was just a soft tentative kiss. When it deepened I found myself clinging to his arm and I felt him tighten his hold on the back of my neck.

We broke apart at the sound of my phone ringing in my pocket.

The ringtone told me that it was P'Kim. What did he want right now. I felt resentful of P'Kim for the interruption of a beautiful moment with P'Joss.

I left my phone to ring until it went to my voicemail. My phone sounded which meant that P'Kim had left a voice message.

P'Joss looked at me, waiting to see if I was going to check my voicemail. I decided that it could wait.

"I usually mute my phone when I don't want to take any calls," he remarked.

I took his cue and set my phone to mute. Something however was telling me that I should find out why P'Kim had called.

"You know what, P'Joss, I think I should get going," I said in a regretful tone.

His face fell in disappointment.

"If that's what you want," he said, trying to keep the disappointment from his voice.

He retrieved his car key from the a small hook that was hanging from the side of a bookshelf.

"Wait," he said just before unlocking his front door. He turned around to me and grabbed me, pulling me close to him, and gave me a deep passionate kiss.

I tried to respond in kind but my brain kept going back to the phone call from P'Kim.
