luke didnt know what he had expected to see when he arrived at his fake ex girlfriend's house, but it certainly wasn't sierra and calum sat on the doorstep smoking together. luke almost turned back around and left, forgetting mali completely. but he wasn't a pussy, and couldn't let sierra think that he was, so he sucked up all his courage and walked over to the door, where they were conveniently sat.

"hey luke." calum said, pulling the fag out from between his lips, letting smoke drift up into the air. "mali's inside." he mumbled as if he knew what the blond was after.

"thanks." luke grunted in response, not in the mood to talk, as he stepped widely over them and through the open door. it smelt like a brury inside. "mali?" luke called, walking mindlessly through to the kitchen, which he also regretted immediately. bottles upon bottles of alcohol lay out on the counter, several completely finished, and the smell was fresh in luke's nose.

as he turned to leave the kitchen, he had a shock when mali was stood at the door, another bottle of some sort of vodka in her hand.

she looked a mess to say the least.

her dark, usually pretty, hair was sticking up in several places at once, and she was dressed in a baggy shirt with stains down the front and sweats that were creased. her fingers were wrapped around the neck of the bottle, her eyes had dark circles running around them. he wasn't sure what to say.

"luke." she spoke softly. her voice still a little cheery despite how she looked.

"why hasn't calum helped you with this?" luke mumbled to no one but himself as he wrapped an arm around mali's waist to support her as they left the kitchen, going up the stairs with great care since she was wobbling everywhere. "which one's your room?" luke asked once they were stood at the top on the wooden landing.

"the one on the right." she hiccuped. luke guided her over, pushing the door open gently, the burning smell of alcohol following them. "i'm not drunk luke." mali slurred as luke took her to her bed and pulled back the covers before laying her down gently in the softness. he pulled the duvet back over her gently and stroked her hair from her face.

"it smells and looks like you are." luke raised an eyebrow, and she giggled.

"sierra and me were just talking." she grinned, and closed her eyes.

millions of questions ran through luke's mind at the mention of sierra's name again, and he opened his mouth to ask mali what exactly she was doing here, but when she looked back down at the tan girl, she was already passed out, asleep.

luke was too polite to wake her.

he pulled away from her bed and made his way back down the stairs.

"its your fault she's like that, you know." calum stood up from the door way, entering the house and standing in front of luke, a little taller than him, being more intimidating than luke could ever find it in him to be.

"what?"

calum rolled his eyes and lit a cigarette, stuffing it between his puffy lips. "you broke my sister's heart. that can't go unpunished." he grunted, his voice gravely and gruff as usual. "you have to fix this mess you've created, and then swear to me you will never, ever, fuck my sister up again."

luke opened his mouth to speak and argue with the boy, but shut it again when calum raised his eyebrows at him.

"alright." luke said, lowering his head and pushing his way past mali's brother and to the doorstep where sierra was still sat, a smug look on her face. the only thing luke thought to himself as he stepped over her on the way out was, i knew she had something to do with it, and he vowed never to go near mali or calum when sierra was there, ever again.
