You woke up to Connor gently shaking you. "Hey, is everything okay? You should be up by now." Connor asked. "I am up." You giggled. Connor just stared at you. "Food." Was all you said before getting up to get a doughnut (or other pastry that would be at a police station. I dunno.) You blinked a couple times as you checked the time with your internal clock. "Oh, Hank should be here soon." You said as you chewed on your pastry. "Yup." Connor confirmed as he picked up an apple.

You both chatted and ate your food then about five minutes before the captain was supposed to arrive you two got to work on the computers. Nothing was really interesting or popped out at you. Fowler arrived right on time and started walking to his office without giving either of you so much of a glance. "Good morning Captain Fowler. Can I get you some coffee?" You offered. He just nodded before closing his glass door.

Bitch... Woah, hold on, relax.

You got the coffee you had offered and walked it over to the captains secluded glass room. You gave it to him but he waved you off dismissively. "... Your welcome." You said, but immediately regretted it and hoped he didn't hear the little hint of spite you spoke. You just briskly walked out and sat back down and acted like you didn't just get upset at the very person who could easily destroy you.

--------------

Everyone trickled in in time and sat down or did work that didn't involve sitting on their ass. Of course Hank wasn't doing much at his desk and Connor was, you found yourself drifting between focusing on filling out papers and getting lost in your mind.

How long could you keep this up? Connor was already suspicious, Markus wants you to be a spy on the inside, and you didn't want to let down anyone... You were stuck between a rock and a hard place...

There was a tap on your desk, bring you out of your questions "hey kid, what's on your mind?" You looked up to see Hank standing over your desk. "What?" You muttered. " I was trying to get your attention, but you were too spaced out." Hank grumbled. "Oh, sorry... I, was thinking about this case." You made a quick excuse, thankfully, you had many cases on your desk. "Anyways, what did you need?" You put a smile on your face as you asked the older man. "I wanted to know what happened last night. Connor told me about a fight?" Hank looked genuinely worried and curious. "Oh, oh yeah, just a couple getting into an argument..." You recalled. "Oh, what about?" Hank seemed to want details. "What? Are you just secretly a teen girl that wants all the gossip?" You teased. He huffed "spill the tea." He joked along. You giggled "apparently the girl caught the guy going to Eden club and she got pissed but then the guy confronted her about sneaking out to be a hooker." You rambled the information you collected from the screaming. "Heh, sounds like a drama Tv series." Hank found amusement in others misfortune. "Yeah, yeah. Go back to work." You laughed. "Aw, no fun." Hank complained. "You don't work, you don't get paid." You rolled your eyes with a smile. He trudged back to his desk and reluctantly resumed his job. He definitely wanted a break and came to you for that.

-------------

You couldn't help but be painfully aware of how boring filling out papers was. Date case Summery never ending cycle of bullshit! You had to step away from the papers, you made your way to the break room to relax. Without knowing, you were growing angry at the papers, everyone was always the androids fault, the human that was clearly causing trauma wasn't seen as an issue! You never noticed it before, but now that you'd shattered the blindfold that shielded your eyes from exactly how unfair this was, you were angry. You changed your vision to the analysis setting, you looked down at the ground where thousand glitchy shards lay sprawled across the floor. Why did you turn in the first place, you didn't want people looking down on you? Well, turning didn't change that shit at all! It just made it so much harder. You just wanted to cry, there was nothing going right and the mood swings that were obviously hitting hard didn't help either.

What could you do now? What on earth were you supposed to do? You didn't want to leave the DPD because you'd grown close to your partners. But you wanted out of constantly trying to stop deviants. Why did you get yourself into this?

Y/n? You there?

Hey, it's been a while... Sorry about that. I just found myself without much inspiration to write this story so I left it for a couple weeks then my mental health kind of spiraled, and I just didn't want to write, then of course I had to start another book😅. But anyways, excuses are excuses, sorry for the ridiculous wait.
