Your alarm screamed for you to wake up and you slapped the top of it to shut up. You sat up and rubbed your eyes. Getting out of bed felt absolutely terrible, in the end you'd probably had gotten thirty minutes of sleep, and now you'd have to deal with overtime at work.

Connor wasn't in bed so he was probably somewhere down stairs. Reluctantly you forced yourself to get up and get ready for the terrible day you knew you were going to have. "Good morning." Connor greeted you as you walked down the stairs. "Morning..." You mumbled followed by a long yawn. "You got home really late last night. Can you really go to work?" Connor asked. "Doesn't matter. I have to." You were really telling yourself that more than Connor.

"Please don't push yourself. I'll go in for my shift, and you can just come home and sleep." Connor asked of you. "No, you're going to stay home in bed. We don't know what could cause the U.R. to progress." You refused. "(Y/n), you don't have to worry about me so much-" "Yes, yes I do. Connor... This is serious shit, you're not just going to miraculously pull through it." You rubbed your eyes too tired to be having this conversation. "But I'm not in pain, and it's not like I'm going to die tomorrow." Connor tried comforting you, but it seemed to do the exact opposite. Your face turned to a sorrowful frown at his words. "Connor........ You don't understand. No android that anyone's known of have survived this... And I went to the church last night and... And..." You went silent, wondering if you should tell him or not. "And what?" He pressed. "...a year." Your voice barely above a whisper. "You have a year at best if we don't do anything...." You finished, looking down at the counter you had sat down at. "I'm asking you to please just relax. We don't know what makes it worse and I don't want to find out the wrong way. Markus along with everyone are helping to figure some stuff out... I'll fill you in on it when I get home, I really just need to get ready. Just, please trust me." You said as you started up the stairs needing to get to work soon.

You clocked yourself in trying your best to not look dead inside. Hank had showed up to work on time, he had been getting better about staying out at bars. "Morning." Hank greeted with a mouth full of donut. "Morning..." You mumbled as you struggled to focus on your computer screen. "You look like shit. What's up?" Hank asked as he leaned on your desk. "Ah, just didn't get any sleep." You smiled at him giving him as much attention as you could offer. "Yeah... Connor didn't come in for his shift yesterday. Was that the reason?" His question was suggestive, all you could respond with was a face palm. "No." You were uncomfortable that Hank would try talking to you about that subject. "That would be very irresponsible. He's not feeling well, that's why he won't be coming to work for a while." You informed Hank as much as you sought important for him to know. "Since when could androids get sick?" He was obviously thinking of the common cold. "Deviants... There's possibility for things to go wrong in their systems. Connor's one of the unlucky ones." You sighed trying to hide how bad the situation was. "Is he doing okay?" Since your conversation had ended up longer than he expected, he rolled over a chair and sat down. "Ah, yeah. I'm working with everyone down at the church to get things sorted out." You assured him and thought that would be the end of this. "Are you doing okay?" He asked, his voice much more serious. "Yes, of course. Why?"

"Just two days ago you weren't doin' too good, and it doesn't seem like you're doing much better." It felt like you were being scolded. "Oh, I'm fine now. It was just a little episode." You waved it off. "Kid... You're struggling to keep your eyes open... Now, I don't want to be the one to treat you like a child but, god damn, you needa' talk to people every once in a while." Hank leaned back in his chair, letting out a long sigh. You rubbed your eyes "Yeah, yeah, yeah... Connor already yelled at me for it." You'd been too tired to filter your words. What you said caught Hank's full attention "He what?" He needed confirmation. "Ah, that sounded bad... It was just a little quarrel. Everything's fine now." You reiterated. "I didn't know he could get that angry..." He said as he leaned back in his chair once more. "Well, the more you knoooow..." You mumbled as you had turned back to your computer.
