You stood in the mirror brushing your hair, making sure you looked as presentable as possible. Today you were meeting with the real estate agent.
Connor entered the bathroom as well and looked at you through the mirror among all the sticky notes placed on it. "You look fine." Was all he said, he knew. You just laughed as you set the brush down. "I'm nervous, I just really want to give this person a good impression." You fretted over things. "You've been brushing your hair for five minutes and thirty two seconds...... I think it's fine." Connor laughed at you. "I think it's about time I dispose of my LED..." He vocalized his decision. "Oh, go for it." It caught you a little off guard, it just never crossed your mind that he would've wanted to get rid of it. You rummaged through a drawer in the bathroom until you found a pair of scissors and handed it to the male. He took it and looked a little reluctant, he wasn't all too confident about it.
He looked down at the silver blades connected to the black plastic handles, and the very LED he initially wanted to get rid of blinked yellow methodically. "Do you want to?" You asked. "Should I?" He second guessed himself. "If you want to get rid of it, do it. If you don't, keep it. That's your decision." You gave him a soft smile. "What if things... Become more complicated?" He questioned, this had defiantly been something that had been on his mind for a while. "More complicated?" You didn't quite understand. "It, it just seems that the more... Alive, I become, the harder everything becomes." He skimmed his fingers across the scissors as he spoke. He didn't make eye contact. You gently cupped his face so he looked eye in eye with you "Living is absolutely terrifying, but I'm here with you every step of the way. You're already as alive as you get, whether you have your LED or not, does not determine anything. A little flashing light is only as important as you make it." You spoke as you rested your forehead against his, still looking into his eyes. He just looked down and laughed, he knew you were right. "Now, do what ya want!" You let him go with a bright smile.
He gave one last unsure glance at the scissors before making his final decision and popped the little circle off from his temple, and skin quickly grew over it. You gave him a little clap and he rolled his eyes at you playfully.
"Alright, come on, we have places to be, things to stress over, lets go!" You spun around and raced for the door. "Yeah, get the fuck out of here." Hank called out from the kitchen. You just stuck your tongue out at him and he copied you. Connor followed you to the door "see ya later, Hank." You waved as you opened the door. "I thought a new house meant that I didn't have to." Hank huffed. "Haha." You said dryly before the door closed behind you.
Hank had given you permission to use the car today so you could get to the house on time, so you got into the drivers side and Connor got into the passenger side. You rested your head on the wheel with a laugh of disbelief "we're actually doing this..." You mumbled. Connor grabbed hold of your hand and intertwined his fingers with yours. "We are." That was it, those were his words of comfort. But they worked. You giggled before leaning over and giving him a kiss.

"So, if you just sign here, the house will officially belong you." The real estate woman handed you her clipboard and pointed to a line that required Connor and your signatures. As you wrote it down you smiled, in situations where you needed a last name Hank had set it up to where you could use his. It wasn't like he could adopt you, android laws hadn't accepted that.
You handed the clip board over to Connor, and he had the same wide smile on his face.
The woman took the clipboard from him with that big toothy grin that all sellers seemed to have. "Great, you can start moving in tomorrow. Congratulations on the new house!"
Tomorrow...you felt ecstatic. Life seemed to be slowly coming together. The only downside was your poor wounded bank account, houses are expensive...
When you got back to Hank's house, he of course insisted on celebrating with a bottle of whiskey (or three). Connor was quick to shut that down, defiantly was the responsible choice. "Put your bad decisions back in the cabinet, lieutenant. Please don't make (Y/n) an alcoholic as well..." Connor groaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to hide a smile. "I can't put my damn life in one cabinet." Hank retorted. You snorted and Connor put his hands over his face trying hard to keep his composure. Everyone was in a very bubbly and happy mood the whole night, you wanted the last night to be a good one. "Hank... Thank you so much for everything. You've been there for Connor and I every time we needed it. It scares me how easily we could've never met... and I'm so glad that we did. I owe you so much... And I don't know how I'd ever repay you. Thank you." You smiled as tears welled up in your eyes, and Hank embraced you in a big hug. The smell of booze was oddly comforting. "Don't worry, kid. You already have, the two of ya gave me the chance to be the father I never got to be..." Hank said softly. You hugged him tighter happily, Connor also joining. "Though, it's going to be fucking heaven to have my house to myself again." Hank laughed and so did you and Connor.
"Aight, I'm going to bed. Night." Hank broke away and shambled off to his room. The rest of your night was spent on the couch, you had found a movie and sat in between Connors legs and his arms wrapped around you. "Tired?" Connor asked softly, he took notice to the way your head softly bobbed. "mm..." You hummed barely awake. "...I love you." Your voice was small and barely audible, by now you were fast asleep, but your hands still held on to his. Connor smiled and kissed your head "I love you." He whispered before hugging you a little tighter and finding a way to lay you down on the sofa without waking you, he put a blanket over you, and quietly made his way to his room. He always felt guilty about you sleeping on the couch, but you had insisted that he took the bedroom.
He lied down, and slowly, the whole house was asleep. There was nothing but peaceful silence.
Hello! I just wanted to say hi to you all. I hope you're all doing okay in quarantine.💙
