Chapter Fourteen: Forgot my Dancing Shoes and my Mind
"And exactly why did you want to come here?" I asked him as he jumped over the knee-high fence.
"Well," he breathed out, "our friends were getting on my nerves and I thought you wanted to practice a bit. I mean if you'd want to go back then yeah we can." We stood on opposite grounds; Eric was on the other side of the fence.
"No it's fine. I'd love to practice, it makes me better." I smiled. He stretched out his arms to me, letting his hands grasp my hips as he pulled me over the top. I could have jumped, maybe, if my dress wasn't so long, but just that swift moment, it felt good to be in his arms. He let me go once I was secured on the ground.
"I'll go get the equipment, stay here okay." his eyebrow arched for a second as if challenging me to stay. I crossed my arms as I played along.
"We'll see." He smiled widely as he started to walk into the shed.
My mind started to gallop as millions of thoughts crossed my mind, all concerning Eric and his attractiveness. It was like a spell! I wanted to be close to him, but just thinking of it made me want to pull away. After all, he didn't feel a thing, he's a stone.
I sat down on the smooth fence as I waited for his handsome face to appear behind the doors.
After a few minutes, he came out with two bows and multiple arrows across his hard chest. My stomach started to do backflips as he neared me with his heart -melting smile.
"Here." he said as he handed me my bow. "Today, I'll show you how to use the bow and arrow the Entie style." He winked. I let out a short laugh.
"Entie style? So first it’s the transportation to the kitchen like last time and now it’s how to use a bow and arrow?" I remembered what he said that day; that he would carry me "Entie style." Even till now I have no idea what exactly is Entie style.
"Definitely. Besides so far, my style has been amusing to you, so prepare to be amused." He said before turning his back to me. He prepared his bow as he looked around the perimeter. The large, circular targets were surrounding him in a taunting manner. I just stared at him as he relaxed his shoulders and focused his head on a target.
Suddenly, he started to shoot multiple arrows during seconds. He moved around himself, striking all targets around him as he propelled more arrows. It was so fast that it seemed sloppy in a way, but as I looked at the targets, his performance was not sloppy. All arrows landed on the red circle, nowhere near the yellow perimeter. He was even shooting without looking at the targets, it was slick. As the small cylinder emptied, he slowed and started to shoot the arrows toward the sky which then landed perfectly on the target.
Eric took a breath in then out before turning to me. He smiled at my reaction, which was a hanging-open mouth. My God that was incredibly hot… I mean attractive.
He started to walk towards me, giving me a crooked smile that was just as tempting as his moves were.
"Well?" he asked. I was speechless for a while until I grinned.
"That was amazing. It was so fast and you are obviously talented. How did you do it so quick?" I asked him. He swung over the bow while he took another few steps closer to me.
"Practice. And my wrist has gotten used to the rotations." I nodded. He was brilliant.
"Want to show me?" I asked, biting my lip.
His hazel eyes gleamed under the sunset. "Sure." He extended his hand to me. I took it gently then after jumping off of the fence. We walked closer towards the targets as he grabbed a new cylinder filled with arrows. I turned to face him after he let my hand drop, making my heart drop as well.
