Homesick
I knew the way to our...well my hotel. I just avoided every direction to it. The sun was casting shadows everywhere I stepped, and soon enough people were slowly dispersing into their homes. I didn’t really pay attention to why everyone was leaving, and even some of the small stores closed. It was so ironic, yet frightened me in the pit of my stomach. I crossed my arms around my chest as the sun seized to exist in this area. The night wind blew towards me, and I shivered.
The lampposts were only accompanying my presence, or at least acknowledging it. I passed by what seemed to be a group of women and men, drinking in the store. They grinned easily at me, and seemed pretty friendly. Or maybe that’s what I wanted to believe. By this time, I decided to walk on the street that led to the hotel. So I turned in the corner and started my path. The quiet and stillness became a horrifying scene for me. It was too quiet.
I was then entertained by the click clacks from my shoes. It reminded me of a beat to one of my favorite songs. As if they knew the song I was thinking of, other shoes added in. I turned around and saw a group of five men walking behind me. All in black attire.
I kept my pace and didn’t care so much for their presence. Not until they walked much faster than before and whispers trailed behind me.
One whistled at me, and I knew exactly why they were following me.
To my luck, the hotel was close. I walked faster trying not to show it, and took larger steps to reach my destination faster. But they seemed to walk even faster. My heart beat made me shiver even more which made my palms sweaty. The only reason why I need Eric was because he owed me right now. He owed me a lot, but because I was a good person to him, I let him step over me.
"Hey," one of them sang to me. I ignored them. I focused on the hotel destination and not the scary beats my heart pumped.
"Slow down girl, we won’t bite." he tempted. One voice. One sound. If I yelled his name, they would run up to me and get me. So here goes nothing.
"Come one girl!" one pushed. One.
"We just want to talk." Two.
"Please!" Three.
"Eric!" I screamed. I took this chance to run as fast as my legs could. But an arm grasped mine and I was done for.
"We told you we wanted to talk." the guy with black eyes told me quietly. His hand gently stroked my face, but it felt like knives.
"Don’t touch me." I warned, my voice never faltering. I pushed his arm away from me only making things worse.
"Paul, please. Let’s take turns." The guys with gray eyes said. He smiled.
"She’s too gorgeous to be taken with one guy. You have got to learn Paul." He said back. His eyes traced my face.
"Well well, aren’t you a perfect creature. You’re lucky you found us." he lowered his voice. Paul pulled him away from me. But now he went back to stroking my face. I tried to move my face away from his hand but he found his way.
"Actually, I think you’ll be with me for a while." he leaned in, bit I kicked him below before he even had the chance to place his face near mine.
"Bitch!" he cried. He went in for another try at my face, but he was pulled away by the angel of all darkness.
Eric held his short by the collar, showing of his flexed muscles.
"What do you think you’re doing to her." He snarled.
