Chapter Fifteen: Reminisce and Indulge
A/N: Sorry for any errors or if it isn’t as descriptive as it could be, I really wanted this chapter out for you guys so again, I’m sorry but I will fix it sometime soon. Thanks for understanding and enjoy!
We finally walked into the dining room where I met my father's warm eyes and my mother's cold eyes. She was upset, I could tell. Nonetheless we walked into the chatting room where I fell right next to my Father, right on the edge of the table.
"How was your day sweetheart?" asked my Father as I settled into the cushioned chair.
"Great. We all had a wonderful time outside." I spoke for all four of us. The room slowly started to become silent as I spoke. "And I'm sorry about my absence, Entie Eric was showing me some defensive moves for archery." My Father's eyes lightened. He turned to Eric who was sitting in front of him.
"Is it true Entie? You know how to use the bow and arrow?" asked my Father. Eric nodded.
"Yes, sir. I've been practicing for twelve years." my Father enjoyed Eric very much, even short stories like these.
"Well I'm glad you know so much. It's great to know my daughter's protector is a-"
"Beast." added Daniel who then started to laugh. My Father had no idea what he meant but he shook it off.
"Father he is beyond great, honestly. Twelve years has served him well." I commented. Eric smiled at me as I dared myself not to blush.
"So I see." with that the cooks came in with the silver trays and drinks. As they lifted the half-sphered lid, everything on every plate looked beyond amazing, as always. One of the familiar cooks lifted mine and once she saw my expression, she smiled.
"Enjoy." she said lightly. I nodded in agreement as my eyes devoured the dinner plate: thin slices of roasted turkey with homemade barbeque sauce, mashed potatoes with melted cheese on top and the side of vegetables of course. I just couldn't wait to feel my taste buds explode. Appetizers were also set on the table as well, such as breadsticks.
"Mmm." I Father purred as he looked at his king-sized dish. He had pasta, which looked just as great. I giggled quietly as his eyes widened.
My eyes then dashed to Eric's plate that had the same exact thing as I did, only he had more meat slices. Figures, he’s a guy.
After the delicious meal, we all went our separate ways. My Mother talked to me as the dishes were washed in the kitchen. She just didn't like the fact that I wasn't present for lunch and nearly late for dinner. But I just assured her that it's just because of the occasion. If it wasn't for the Parade and more Entie's surrounding our home, it wouldn't be the same. After I left her, I skipped upstairs and into my room, not shutting the door since I was going back outside soon. I took off my earrings and other jewelry before heading to the living room upstairs. A large balcony was established, with a deck large enough for another dining area.
The night sky was beyond beautiful with all the stars and the moon at its brightest. Lampposts weren't needed to brighten the streets. The breeze was cool and crisp, and even the strength of the wind was gentle with the leaves.
I stepped outside and closed the door behind me, letting the door knob slip away from my hands. I stood there, with my hands grasping the banister as I peered above. It was a beautiful sight and what captured me most was the silent environment that seemed to stay infinite.
I found my center, keeping me in balance. I closed my eyes and slowly breathed in and out, feeling my chest expand and decrease in size.
As if my silent moment couldn't get any better, it was somewhat ruined. I turned at the sound of the door creaking opened and noticed it was none other than Eric. Boy he seemed to never lose his sight from me. Then again, he's my near-Entie, he had to be with me at all times.
