9.I Made A Fool Out Of Myself

  "So in this way my kiss ended with Manik." I told Soha who was eagerly waiting to hear my story about first kiss. Soha is my best friend for 8 years and she is not less than a sister to me. She is few years older than me and has a great experience in journalism. She worked as  intern when I came to office of Prachiti. "At last I thought your lips would be virgin until you get married. My Nandu is growing!!" she fake sniffed and I can imagine her wiping imaginary tear.

  I am completing my assignment while keeping in speaker. "So, how is the new place?" a small smile gazed my lips. "It is calm, good and gives me peace. Perfect for me." I said writing the last part of my assignment. I had borrowed the assignment from one of my classmate. "Don't you feel something supernatural power exist?" I am damn sue she is trying to make me fool.

 "You know I don't believe in such things." I dismissed her topic by packing my bag. "You know you should search some clues there. Varna mam stayed there for 4 years and I am damn sure she has hidden somethings there." wow she did good research. "how do you know?" I know she is info explorer just like Dora, but I like to know her sources. "Sources duh." Soha never reveals her secret.

  "So how is Harshad and your relationship?" I asked and I could imagine her being red. "He took me date yesterday. It was so good, I can't describe through words. He looked...." here she starts her love life which I find really very boring. Of course, if she talks about food I would imagine eating it, but she always tells how Harshad is so perfect boyfriend, how his hair falls when he is happy. God! she once explained her first kiss and I was preventing myself not to puke.

  "Are you listening?!!" her yelling brought me back to conversation. If I tell her I zoned out, then I will have to hear another lecture about improving my love life. "I was thinking about Varna's friend." after interviewing Varna's mother, the cute couple told about the school days of Varna and Kabir, Mukti brought the most useful information. They said that the friend who supported Varna to leave her house was Vidya. She was friend with her since they were in kindergarten but they turned into enemies due to the jealousy.

  "Yes, I have her address and you can meet her. If you want I can take an appointment?" this is the reason I like Soha, she reads my mind even before asking. "Please, also send her background details to me." By now I was yawning. I was hell tired today because of all the shifting. Thanks to fab 5 and Navya who helped me and now I am alone.

 "Ok, I will send you. I will call you tomorrow, Harshad is calling me. Bye" she is so excited that she didn't even let me respond. I got a text from Manik.

Manik: Are you awake?

Me: yep, Why?

Manik: Let's go on a date tomorrow.

  Oh god! how should I tell him that I am not looking for a relationship.

Me: our relationship is fake!!

Manik: Not for me

Me: What?

Manik: I want to give a try for this, so you will come with me for date. I am asking a reward for my hard work.

 I hate my life.

Me: Fine! We are having lunch date.

Manik: Ok, I know you want to save money.

Me: bye, good night.

Manik: Good night, XOXO

  Now he is acting like that love sick teenage guy. I shook my head and slept.

  "This time we are heading to your favourite restaurant." Manik's declaration had me smirking. My favourite restaurant is not his type. "Go straight and take left. You will find a telephone booth stop near it." I was not going to reveal the secret so easily. "You are kidding me?" he asked looking at the small Dhaba. I got down to teach Manik a lesson.

  We sat on the cots and Manik made a disgusted face which I couldn't help chuckle. "Can't we go to some better restaurant?" I so wanted to laugh at Manik's state. "Is Manik. Malhotra allergic of these types of food?" I teased him to which his expression changed. We ordered our orders and soon the food came.

  I dug into without wasting a minute. When I finished I wanted to see Manik's disgusted face, but I was surprised when he was still eating. I looked at the table and it had two plates. He ate two plates. When he finished I paid the bill after a lot of fight with him. "How was the food?" I asked to know whether he liked or not. He smiled at me and started praising the food. Thank god!! he liked it or I would have been in guilt that I couldn't return the same happiness he gave on our first date.

 We reached the college to attend the rest hours, but the lock of the car did not open. I looked at Manik who had a smirk on his face. "You know it's just lunch till now" he said dangerously coming near me. "We need to make it  a date." by now he was holding my waist and stared at my lips. "I will allow you, only if you complete the date." Now I was giving a very tough competition for tomatoes.

  I took deep breath before moving my lips. He was slowly leaning forward. I touched his lips and fire works started inside my stomach. I wanted time to stop and I wanted to stay forever in this state. I just pressed my lips on his, but he held my head and deepened the kiss. My hands involuntary went to his soft hairs. I pulled away to ask a stupid question.

  "What shampoo do you use?" he burst out laughing. Very good Nandini you made a fool out of yourself.
