12. Varna's Love

  "Stop it!" I whisper yelled. "I swear Manik, I will strangle you to death, if you don't get your hands off my thighs." I again whispered at Manik harshly who is sitting beside me at the back seat of the van. "I will remove it if you give a kiss." I glared at him. Whole fab 5 along with Vibha are in front of us and Kabir is sitting beside Manik snoring like a pig. "Please Manik everyone will be grossed if I do it." I seriously said looking towards front. "All are busy or they are sleeping, common you need to give me." he said coming close to me.

  I held my palm in front of my mouth "Ok, I will give you after we reach Vibha's home?" Even I doubted my statement, but Manik need not to know that. At last he sighed and looked front with that grumpy face. He is such a child. I looked in front of us where driver was driving and Mukti sat beside him to not to let him sleep. Druv and Aliya were in their own world romancing with each other and Vibha sat beside Aliya looking out through the window with her ear phones on her ear.

   "Finally we reached. Now lets get out, I want to stretch my stiffened legs." Mukti said getting out of the car. Manik was busy in waking up Kabir and Vibha was no where to be seen. "guys come soon papa is waiting to meet all of you" I felt Vibha was 6 year old who couldn't hide her excitement.

  We all enter and greeted by the elderly figure Azad. Khan. He was still looking handsome if the some wrinkles and grey hairs were ignored. The perfect chiselled jaw and a blue eyes were the main thing that caught my eyes. "Hello sir, I am Nandini.." I was left hanging when he smiled and held his palm. "I know why you are here. Vibha has told a lot about you. Please call me uncle and sir makes me realise I am old now." he said in a fake sadness which earned him some chuckles.

  We all got freshened up and it was night. Vibha have taken fab 4 to her favourite spot. Only Manik and me are with uncle who is in sit out section of home. "Uncle, I know it's really painful to loose someone but we want to know the truth. Can you please tell us when you met Varna mam and her life with you?" I asked hopefully

  "I was a brat till I met her. There was no 'no' in my dictionary. I always got what I wanted, but Varna was exception. I wanted her attention but she was so focused about her career that she didn't even look at me. I waited for 4 weeks after the start of shooting to get her attention, but she just used to smile at me whenever we met. I was not used to this behaviour, so I thought of taking the initiative. I asked for a date with me, but she said she wanted to have a dinner with me." a smile was gazing his lips.

  "In dinner she told me about the girl who is suffering from cancer and her family needs help. I wanted to take advantage of it, so I asked her to sleep with me." I gasped at his words. "I got a tight slap from her and a long lecture ' how I should respect women?' I started making her life hell in shooting, but she took it in a positive way and continued with it." he looked at the stars that were shining.

  "One day when the shooting was over she received a call and she started running. She was almost hit by a truck, but I don't know what got into me which made me save her. She was still bleeding, but refused to go to hospital and ran away without giving a heed to anyone." he drank the water which was on table. "I followed her and came to know that the girl who she asked my help to save her life should be operated immediately. I saw the girl and something stirred inside me. She was not more than 3 years, she slept on the hospital bed. I got the cheque and signed whatever amount the doctor asked. Even I was shocked with my behaviour."

  I looked at Mr. Khan which had the same glint as that of Manik who was happy saving the maid's daughter's life. "Varna was shocked, she even checked my temperature." we all chuckled along with him. " I came to know that the girl's mother got into an accident which forced her to loose her life. After a week of that operation I saw a small smile in that girl's face. Her words shook me 'thank for saving my life angel' was her precise words. I don't know what happened?, for the first time I cried for an unknown. I even don't know how to describe it." his eyes were glossy.

  "I told her I am not an angel, but she was stubborn she named me her angel and I couldn't do anything. Since then I followed Varna's advice and also made her female lead for many films I produced. I just wanted to get close to her and gradually became friends. She accepted me knowing my past playboy nature, but did not forget to take the promise that she will be the last women whom I should share a couple relationship." I never knew his love story was so emotional.

  "I was falling hard for her day by day. One day I proposed her and we were married. My parents and her parents never gave their consent, but my brother, Atif. Khan supported me. So this is our love story." he said wiping the tears which his eyes shed.

  Love is some thing that happens in unexpected places.
