10. Collection Of Proof

  "Have you taken the mac book?" I asked Manik searching my ID for entering Prachiti TV office. "Yes, I have also taken the recording of all the people we interviewed" He said and I was so thankful of him. "Where is Mukti?" I gave my ID for scanning so that we can enter the building. "I am here!" Mukti ran towards us with keys in her hand. We entered Mr. Thakkar's cabin and I presented all my research and by his face I couldn't even make whether he was impressed or not.

  I wanted to meet Soha, so that I can explain some details, but Mr. Thakkar stopped us in between "Wait! I would like to have a small talk with Miss. Vardan." this made me extremely confused, but he is my boss, so Manik and me obliged him and went to Soha's cabin.

  "Hey!!" I entered her cabin without knocking. When she lifted her head from laptop, she didn't wait a second before hugging me. Manik cleared his throat, "Manik, meet Soha, my best friend. Soha, meet my..." I was not even given the chance to speak further, as Manik interrupted me. "I am her boyfriend." he said while tightening his hold on my waist.

  I blushed under his touch and tried to remove his hand, but it only tightened. I sighed and glared him. That damn best friend of mine was giggling at my state. Please remind me why you are best friend with her. "Romance apart, now please tell me of your sudden visit." Soha said going back to her table.

  Manik and me sat on the front chairs. "As you know till we interviewed Varna's parents and information about her friends and schooling. We went to her modelling company and we got the most precious information." a week back Druv and Aliya had enquired about the broken friendship of Vidya and Varna. "The owner's son said that Vidya was bribed to bring Varna into this career by his father. He has his cold war with his father, so he told all the illegal his father did."

  I showed her the picture of the owner "When Varna came to his company as a model, Vidya was given a chance to act in an ad. There is a rumour that Vidya slept with director for this ad." I felt disgusted telling that. Manik gave Soha the Mac book and showed him the related articles. "After a year of Varna's journey in this company, she caught the eye of the director of her first film. When she finally signed the contract of film, Vidya couldn't tolerate that."

  I showed the article in one of the old newspaper where there was a pic of Vidya's drunken state. "One day at the birthday party of Varna, Vidya drank too much and talked too badly about her. After the offer of the film which Varna got, Vidya was just finding a chance to humiliate her, but Varna lost her patience when Vidya crossed her limit, this led to their break up and never crossed each other's path." I completed my research.

  "I got to know from all these that Varna. Hariharan was a hot-headed, stubborn, well principled woman. If someone would say 'she started the prostitution ring', I would definitely not believe it." Manik said staring at the report I made. I have to give credits to fab 5 for all their hard work. "Ok, I will edit this and your story will be published weekly on Saturday. I will change some names and please tell me the name of the author." Soha said collecting all the reports and documents.

  I thought of giving NM as it is the name they gave after displaying my sting operation but this time I am not alone so I thought of other names. "I will discuss with my team and let you know Soha." I said grabbing my bag. "Hey, I wanted to ask why boss is so obsessed with Mukti?" this made me go cold. Is Mr. Thakkar trying to take revenge on Mukti for talking back at him in cafeteria?

  I heard a series of cursing from the door. There stood Mukti with furious expression and was really trying hard not to punch anyone. "That arrogant bull has no brain. What does he think of himself?" she started shouting seeing me. Once I was thinking what did I do? then I realised her situation. "What happened Mukti? Did he misbehave with you?" Manik was referring Mr. Thakkar with clenched fists. Mukti gave a look of 'are you kidding me?'

  "No, he is blackmailing me to work as his PA." she said and punched the wall beside her and soon started cursing in pain. "What is he blackmailing with?" Soha asked out of her curiosity.

  Mukti sighed and sat with her bruised wrist. "Last week I had a tattoo on my waist. My parents are cool about it, but the problem is my grandma who don't know I am like this." she gestured herself. Frankly I did not know her way of 'like this'.

  Seeing my confused state "She is thinking that I am a traditional girl who obeys everything said." she said and now everything became clear to me. "That idiot who is boss of yours, knows my grandma so well and he is blackmailing me that he will reveal the truth." she said keeping her head on table. "Just do what he says. You know this is your last year, take this as internship and work here." I suggested to which she gave a satisfied smile and hugged me.

  I think fab 5 is not as bad as I thought.
