26. Stealing

 "You all have about 20 to 25 minutes to sneak into the collage and get the papers. I can distract the security for maximum half an hour." Soha said taking all her equipments and intructing Kabir who have agreed to help her. "Thank you so much Soha for this. Even in this short notice you came to help us, it means a lot to me." she smiled swatted my arm which is gestureof  saying 'what are friends for?'

  Aliya and Druv went near the security of college as drunkards and started throwing tantrums. As for as Aliya who is handling her drunkard boyfriend . According to the plan she will ask the help of the security which distracts them. Soha will make the cameras loose their senses  which are installed in front of gate. "Common Manik let's go." I said and we both ran into the college gate. We hid behind the bushes to go near the library. The library will be locked so we collected the key which we had taken the prints against soap.

  "Why library is open in this mid- night?" Manik asked and I observed. The library was open with keys dangling at it's knob. We entered the library without making noise. The only thing that illuminated the library was moonlight. I switched on the flash light in my mobile and went near research section. The research papers were placed at the top most shelf so Manik tried all the keys which we took a print. It was 20th key and Manik was loosing his patience.

  "Are you sure we are not repeating the keys we tried?" Manik asked a little out of breath. "I am keeping the used keys in different bag so no we are not repeating it." As soon as I completed my statement, we both heard a click. Manik's tired face turned into a grin which I reciprocated. He opened the shelf and was greeted by webs and dust. He handed me the all the files inside the shelf one after the other. I started searching all the files.

  We only have 15 minutes to collect the proof and reach the exit. Well Mukti is waiting for us near a compound of library as a back up. Navya and Vibha are absent as there should be someone outside to bail us from precinct if we get caught. "Got it!!" Manik whisper yelled and showed me the papers. I couldn't hide my excitement so I hugged Manik tightly then it stroke me that we need to get going. I handed Manik all the other files which we removed and kept the draft of post-mortem.

  We are very lucky as the draft has the sign of Dr Nayak. Manik locked the shelf as we were heading out of the library but a light was on in the digital library section. I peeked inside it only to be hell shocked. The librarian and 2 to 4 men stood near a computer and there were heap of currency notes. I took my phone and recorded their conversation.

 "Hurry up we need at least 10,000 notes today." a man standing beside librarian told  the man sitting in front of computer. The librarian was taking a puff from his cigar. There was a machine which printed the currency notes and the machine looked like some type of ATM to me.

  I recorded enough and jumped the compound with the help of Manik. Mukti sped off the car as soon as we climbed it. "Soha I have a very sensational news for our channel." I said and sent the recording. "I should not be surprised as there will be some sensational news where NM goes." Soha said chuckling at me. What can I do? she knows me so well.

  "Are Druv and Aliya ok?" I asked and I heard a loud scream from Kabir and Druv shouting at someone to calm down. "I will call you later as your friends are going to do a world war 3.Bye" she hung up and I opened the report.

    It clearly said the same thing as Dr. Nayak said to Kabir. Who can do that? It clearly states that she was brutally murdered. To kill someone at such an extent is only possible if he/she is having the utmost haltered. I cannot point anyone in this case. "I think if we contact Vidya we can get some proofs." Manik said without looking at me. "You are right but to get her appointment it is very difficult. The one in Prachiti TV had contacted her for an interview and she refused saying that she don't give interviews to crap channels."

  I really wanted to punch her . She is the one with crap attitude and she should feel grateful that we asked her appointment not the other way. "So what's next?" he asked and at the same time by cell rung. "Switch on the 'News Today' channel in your mobile." Soha said and hung up.

  There was a live telecast and a female reporter was reporting it. "The well known news paper 'Prachiti today' is writing a fictional story that is not t all a fictional. It is confirmed that the story is about the late actress Varna. Hariharan. According to our sources we got to know about a young reporter who is interested in Mrs. Hariharan's life. She is doing it illegally so we being the well wisher of the society filed a case against 'Prachiti Today' to know more stay updated to 'News Today '." that pig completed her bogus speech. I am doing it illegally? I know this stealing is illegal but all the other things I did was complete legal.

  Even I have written a request to reopen the case of my parents.  I am not gonna leave that woman.
