South Park was always a town that was constantly changing. There were periods where they were successful - other times they were not. In recent years however, South Park was able to grow their economy and size. It quickly became a city, spilling into previously untouched areas.

Many of the adults tried to do things the right way - at first. Business was booming, big companies moving into South Park at head-spinning speeds; unfortunately, people got greedy. The Mayor, along with other city officials, started to dip into the city's funds, and began to corrupt the entire system. Because of this, businesses started to fail, and people started to lose jobs. Naturally, most of the population moved out of the area just in time for the housing market to crash, and crime to increase.

Now, with hundreds of vacant houses and businesses, most people took to criminal activities to support themselves. This didn't just affect the adults though, kids and young teens also began following in the footsteps of the only example they had. With the adults stressed and angry from the situation, kids didn't get to be kids anymore.

Kenny McCormick was always a victim of the system. His parents were criminals and addicts from the beginning, mistreating their kids just for the fun of it. However, once more people were in the city, their drug dealing business boomed, spreading to out of the state. This ended up causing a lot of trouble though, as the FBI had to get involved since it was then a federal case. Kenny was only 13 when his parents were sentenced to life in prison, leaving him and Kevin to raise Karen.

Fed up with all the bullshit that he couldn't seem to escape, Kenny gathered his friends and decided to take matters into his own hands - he used his parents connections to get into the business that he always hated. Since he was young, and there weren't any jobs hiring kids, Kenny felt like this was the only option for survival. He refused to just give into poverty and let it conquer all of their lives. It wasn't just him suffering anymore. It was everyone.

Of course at first, Mysterion had tried to clean up the city. It was useless though, most people didn't want help, or things were just beyond his abilities. Kenny didn't want to do the same things his parents had been doing yet, he was just a kid trying to do right by the people he loved. And so far, it was working.

After Kyle's dad was murdered one night leaving his office though, everyone looked to Kenny to lead them through a difficult time. They armed themselves and stuck with each other. It was the only thing they knew how to do.

Nearly everyday now, Kenny was with Stan, Kyle, Craig, Tweek, Clyde, Tolkien, Bebe, and Wendy - sometimes Cartman, if he wasn't being a dick. Although he was close with all of them now, Kenny was still closest with Stan and Kyle. All three of them had been through enough in the last few years, and their bond is what kept them together.

Life may have been chaotic, but at least it had always been interesting. With all the terrible changes to South Park, everyone was ready for things to get better.

Before things can get better, things always have to get worse though. For the whole gang, things were about to change with a new kid coming to town..
