Surprisingly our two heroes - Inigo, the khajiit, and Grimlok, the orc - did not face much trouble inside Dayspring Canyon. Aside for the occasional grizzly bears.
It was beautiful, it wasn't as cold as outside. Yellow grass piercing through the thin layer of snow. Up ahead was a stream of river, and in the river bed were two poles with a string connecting them. Dangling from the string were salamon fish, still wet and wiggling around.
"We're not the first to come here I think." Inigo stated.
"Lets hurry it up then." Grimlok said, moving forwards, his heavy armor producing soft sounds of metal rattling with every step he took. They followed a certain pathway till they were met with a nord in simple outfit, no armor, no visible weapon aside from the iron dagger against his side. Grimlok was suspicious at first, but his doubts were erased when the nord turned back and smiled.
"Hello there! Here to join the dawnguard I assume?" He smiled.
The two stopped, Inigo, being friendly as it is, shook hands with the nord. "That's right! What about you?"
"Me too." The young man sighed, "Although I'm.. quite nervous." He laughed nervously. "Name's Agmaer, you don't suppose I could um.. Walk up with you to fort dawnguard?" He asked.
"N-"
"Of course!" Inigo cut Grimlok off midsentence. Grimlok just grunted.
"My name is Inigo, and this here is my friend Grimlok!" The khajiit said."The dragonborn? It's an honor to finally meet you!" Agmaer's eyes sparkled as he looked at the orc. Admiration obvious on his face, like a little boy.
"Yes well.." Grimlok looked around, "We best hurry it up." He said, walking ahead of the two.
Inigo talked with Agmaer as they walked towards the fort, surrounded by a large wooden fence sharpened from above, with watch towers where guards peaked their heads to see.
Apparently Agmaer was a simple man who came from his family's farm. He was sick of these vampires scaring his family and the folk around, so he felt compelled to join and help hunt these vampires down."I admire your courage!" Inigo remarked
"Thank you." Agmaer grinned, "what about you two? You look like you had quite the history.""Sure did." Inigo told. Grimlok looked back, he still believes he knows him? Bah.
"We've been on a few jobs before. But I'm discovering more about my friend, like how he's the dragonborn, one of the highest ranking generals in the Imperial army.." Inigo was careful not to mention the Black-Briars, since the topic seems to set Grimlok off. So thankfully he did not mention anything about it.
"Heard he's the Harbinger of the Companions too!" Agmaer said,
"Wow! Really?" Ingio smiled widely. "My friend you have to tell me more about your journeys!" He said. Grimlok nodded lightly, though he remained silent.Once they arrived the members welcomed them warmly. However they seem to have walked upon a scene unfolding, in which a big redguard man with a warhammer on his back was talking to what looked like a vigilant of Stendarr. Grimlok has seen these kind of men before, they chase every daedra worshipper and seek to destroy them. He's encountered them too, since he has ties with the companions (some of which who are werewolves).
"You know why I'm here, Isran.. The vigilants are under attack everywhere... These vampires are more dangerous than we thought."
"Oh? And now you come running to safety in the Dawnguard?" The redguard said bluntly.
"Several times did Keeper Carcette tell me how this fort will remain in ruins, and now that you've stirred the vampires against you, you come begging for my protection?"
