Mr&Mrs. Cobblepot's Vow: 87- This Is It.

I laid on a hospital bed with Lucius, Harvey, Gordon, Lee and Selina looking down at me. I was still in the abandoned casino and I was scared for what was about to happen to me.

Harvey put a hand on my shoulder "You'll be okay. We will be here when you wake" he hesitated "Are you sure you dont want him here in case things go wrong?"

I looked up at Harvey "Do not bring Oswald here. He cannot see me looking like this" I whispered and nodded up at Lucius "When you are ready."

He looked at them all "It could be awhile. I dont know for sure how long it can take."

Selina smiled down at me "When you get out we will go sit on a roof and talk if you want."

I fist bumped her and smiled "Sounds like a plan."

Gordon and Lee looked down at me, Gordon was hesitating before saying "I know you had the chance to kill me ...thank you for not taking it."

I nodded at him "I want my baby boy to grow up in a safe place. You were making Gotham safe ...and I still feel like you are doing a good job, James" I told him.

Lee smiled as she looked down at me "You will be alright. I trust Lucius."

"I do too" I said witha  scared sigha nd gave her a half smile "Thanks for helping deliver my baby."

"You are welcome."

Lucius gave me a shot and I close my eyes as everything went black.

"Harvey? Where are you going?"

Stopping at the door, I looked at Jim "I have to. Ahe would regret it."

Jim nodded understanding what I meant "I'll call you if anything happens."

I stood outside the door debatimg whether or not to go in. As much as I hated the little bastard ...Nessita needs him. And their kid.

Taking a deep breath, I walked into City Hall and walked right up to Penguin who looked surprised to see me "Harvey. What are you doing here?" he said confused.

My attention waanr on him though, it was on Draven.

The baby was staring up at me with big eyes and started smiling, he made baby noises and my heart almost broke. I broke eye contact with Draven and looked at Oswald.

"As much as I hate to admit it, and go against her wishes. Nessita needs you" I said and crossed my arms "She topd me not to bring you or even tell you. She is having Lucius do some creepy shit to her head and she needs her family ...you, the kids there and mw is all she has left."

Oswald stared at me and raised a eyebrow "She doesnt want me there, Harvey. Even I can see that" he told me and srood up, he grabbed a glass of something he had been drinking and walked towards a window.

I hesitated "She lied. I know she needs you, I can see it. You mean everything to her, nobody has ever loved her in the way you do. And ..I can see you care about her too, Oswald" I said and walked to the door.

He yelled my name stopping me, he looked confused "Why have you always cared for her so much?" he asked and crossed his arms "I have never seen you act the way you do with her with anyone else."

My mind raced back to Linda Maroni and I smiled a bit "A reason you will never know. She is in the old Gotham Casino if you want to come."

With that, I walked out of City Hall.

No way in hell was I about to tell Penguin the truth. Nobody but me and Linda knew that Nessita is my daughter, not Damien's. Yeah Linda had married him and he had left her.

But, I was scared to be a father.

And I don't know if I can ever tell Nessita the truth.
