The sound of my alarm clock next to me, woke me up from my peaceful dreams. I slightly opened one eye to check the time.
7:50a.m
I let out a small groan as I stretched my whole body. Opening the other eye, waking up, I noticed that I was in my bed. I don't recall walking back to my room yesterday night. Probably Jake must have carried me here while I fell deep asleep on the couch watching those boring horror movies he puts on.
I forced my indolent body up. My silky blue slippers felt cozy as I slipped them on my bare feet.
I extended the white sheets from under my bed and tugged the covers from each corner. I grabbed some ripped blue skinny jeans and a plain gray shirt from the closet and walked to the bathroom. I did my usual morning routines, although I took a little bit more time to brush my teeth.
I twisted both of the shower knobs until i got warm water. I placed my clean clothes on the counter of the sink, and let my pajama pants and the rest of my clothes fall down to the wooden floor.
Kicking the dirty clothes to the side, I stepped inside the bath tub.
The warmth of the water ran down my whole body. I scrunched my skin with my old blue raspy sponge. Its not the best but at least its better than nothing.
I grabbed a whole full of Head And Shoulders shampoo and started scrubbing my scalp. Most of the time I would take an hour or so in the shower, but for right now I'm in a hurry.
I let the water rinse onto my hair for the last time and drifted off both knobs.
I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my whole body. I quickly changed into my clothes and gathered the dirty clothes I threw onto the floor. I felt the cool breeze air as I opened the bathroom door.
8:17a.m
I unplugged my phone from the charger and stuck it in my left side pocket.
Jake was laying down in the couch with both of his arms crossed. He was covered in a blanket. Probably he stayed here all night watching TV. He looked so peaceful, I didn't want to wake him up.
"Jake" I started shaking his arm.
His eyes where bloodshot as he opened them. I guess he literally stayed up all night watching TV.
"What time is it?" He rubbed his sleepy eyes with his hands
"8:00" I responded
"When does graduation start?" he yawned
"At 10:30, but I don't know how long it will take me to get my hair done"
"Alright, just let me take a quick shower" he got up of the couch and started walking to his room.
I served myself a bowl of cereal and sat down on the couch. I grabbed the remote from the TV. News were on.
After changing channel after channel I gave up and left it on a episode of 'The Vampire Daries'
I have to admit I'm into mystery/thriller shows.
Jake came out moments later.
"Ready?" He asked
"You're not going to eat" I said
"nah I'm not that hungry"
He grabbed his car keys and we both exit out the door.

*At The Salon*
As I waited there patiently seated for the stylist to be done with my hair I thought about how many people would be there. Maybe over 500? What if when I'm crossing the stage I step on my dress and accidentally trip and everyone laughs at me. I would feel so humiliated if that where to happen.
"Done, Now the make-up"
I had asked the hairstylist for curls, I hope they look okay. She got out a bag with a whole bunch of make-up products inside. She started rubbing my face with some cream after cream and then bronzer. My skin felt weird with the products she put on my face. I'm not used to this sort of things.
"What color is your dress?" She asked
"Its like a violet" I answered.
"Close your eyes" she demanded
I felt like she was over doing my make-up to much. She even put fake eyelashes on me.
After 30 minutes had passed by, I was begging to get a little frustrated with her patience. I turned on my phone to check the time
8:48a.m
"Okay, just a little bit tiny touch"
Sure of course go ahead and put a whole lot of more stuff in my face I have all day.
"And finish!"
Wait what did she even put on? I didn't felt nothing on my face.
She turned the chair that I was seated around so I would be facing the mirror.
"Oh my gosh" I covered my mouth as I saw my reflection. I stand up from my chair and examined my whole face. For the first time ever I felt beautiful. I was a totally different girl. All my curls were pushed to the side by a braid holding it together. The bronzer and concealer made my pale checks look naturally flawless. I couldn't help but stare at my eyes for the longest. The eye shadow really made a difference.
"Thank you" i felt an idiotic smile creep up my face.
"You're welcome sweetie" she smiled at me.
I waved my hand at Jake, who was just looking through magazines to come over so he can pay.
"You look amazing Ali" he complimented me.
"I know, I know" I stared at my reflection in the mirror again. And to think that I was beginning to dislike the stylist.
"How much?" I heard Jake say pulling out his wallet.
"50.00$" the lady at the register said.
My face turned into a frown as I saw Jake sigh as he handed in the money to the register lady. Being an employee at Kroger isn't working out well for him. I really should find myself a job over the summer.
