5 : Need help?

"So Ms. Stone I see you are 5 mins late." He said and continued looking in his laptop. I glanced at my wrist watch and I was indeed late.

Rosella you need to talk confidently and do not stutter I told my self "I apologis for being late...I will make sure to keep a track on time next time."he looked at me in amazement.

"I hope you surely will but here in my office I have a rule to compensate the amount of time that you were late by doing over time double the wasted time." I was astouned. "That means you will go 10 min late." He said looking at me in the eyes and I just nodded.

"Now I want you to take these files, go through it analyse it and make a summary out of it. Is that clear Ms. Stone?"

"Yes"

"The room across my office is your working space. And I expect the work to be done till 2:00." He said coldly.
"Surely" I replied and went out of his office.

Everything is so formal here. I mean I know it is an office but I'm not used to such behavior. Maybe working with Mr. Lawrence is easier as he treats me like family.

I shook all the thoughs away and went to the room across Mr. Jones office. It was a nice looking office not as big as his but I liked it.

I set my things up and loged in the computer provided and started working on the task. I started doing my work and time flew by as when I looked at my watch it was already 1:00 and I still had one more file to go.

Now I'm really stressed out. I don't wanna create a bad impression of mine and the Lawrence corporation.

Someone knocked the door."Come in." I said and the door opened revealing Anna.

"It's lunch time let's go and have some food." She came in.

"That's so nice of you to come hear and ask me but I have a lot of work to finish up till 2:00 so you cary on I'll have my lunch later on."

"It's your first day and that douche is already troubling you?" She said with a annoyed look.

I was surprised at how she addressed Mr. Jones. By looking at my expression she said "Now don't expect me to be always taking all good shit about Lucas."

"But after all he is my boss and I have to follow his orders. Its fine with me I am used to such work. And if you could do a favour please bring me a coffee". After that she went and I continued with my work.

I finished my work at 1:50. I went to Mr Jones office and after hearing a "come in" I went in. He was reading some file.
I went near his desk and kept the files and started making my way out.

"Ms. Stone" I heard Mr. Jones calling and I turned to look at him. "Did you have your lunch?" I was confused as why he was asking but just replied a no.

"We have an important meeting at 3 so it's better that you come with me to have lunch and then we could go directly to the meeting."

I didn't expect this coming but I just nodded and went to my office to bring my purse. Then we went to the elevator.

The atmosphere was thick because of the silence between us. Then suddenly my phone started ringing. It was mom calling.

Rosella : "Hey Mom" I answered the call.
Mom : "Hey sweetie are you still working, you always forget to call me."
Rosella : "I'm sorry, I won't forget next time."
Mom : "Have you eaten something or just working hard on an empty stomach?I've heard from Emma that now you also work for some other company?"
Rosella : "Yeah I do but just for a few months."
Mom : "That's great and I think you haven't eaten anything that's why you didn't answered my first question....don't think you can escape my question young lady."
I know my mom will never change she always calls me and sometimes it's just to know if I'm taking rest and my meals properly.
Rosella : "Don't worry mom I'm on my way to have lunch." The elevator door pinged"I'll call you later I gotta go."
Mom : "Ok bye sweetie."

After hanging up the phone I realized that I totally forgot Mr. Jones was in the elevator too. The thought of him listening my conversation with my mom made me blush like a tomato. But still he didn't say anything and I just followed him till we reached his car in the basement.

He opened the passenger door for me and then sat in the driver's seat. He drove out of the building.

"Do you have some specific place to eat Ms. Stone?" He asked while looking at the front.
"No I don't... anything is fine with me."

After almost fifteen minutes of drive we reached a restaurant. Mr. Jones parked the car and we went in, it was a normal looking but a cozy place unlike those five star restaurants

We sat near the window and a waitress approached us. After giving our orders we sat there in silence. I never thoughs that a man like him would have lunch at such a place. I mean he is Rich and all but now when I look at this place I realize why he likes it. The restaurant was surrounded by greenery and also the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.

My thoughts wer cut off by Mr. Jones as he cleared his throat. "You seem lost... did you not like this place?"

"No I'm fine and this place looks nice."
Soon our food arrived and after I saw the food I realized how hungry I was. Not able to control any longer I dug in and after having my first bite I moned in delight.

"It seems that you liked the food." He looked at me with a slight smile.
"Yeah it's amazing.. thanks for bringing me here."
"That's good to here."
We had some small talks about work and after eating I took out my purse to pay but Mr. Jones being the gentleman that he is insisted to pay for both of us.

While we we're in the car I asked Mr. Jones.
"If you don't mind can you tell me what is this meeting about?"

"This meeting is to decide the strategy and the factory outlet will also be discussed."

"And what are the things that I'll have to do there as your assistance?"I asked.
"I want you to take notes and later on submit it to me."

After reaching at the Lawrence corporation building we went to the conference room. The meeting started and went on for a long time. I took all the important notes but was getting bored by the passing time. As the only thing I had to do was write and speak only when asked something. But soon it ended and we came back to the office.

As said by Mr. Jones I submitted the notes to him after reaching back to the office. "I hope you haven't forgotten that you have to go 10 minutes late today." He said after examining the notes.

"No I haven't sir" I said and went to print the paper. After doing my work I looked at my watch and it was time to go so I went to Mr. Jones office to file the papers. When I went near the shelf to take out the file it was a bit high for me but as I tried to reach it due to my heels I lost my balance and fell flat on my butt with a few files falling on me.

Mr. Jones hurriedly came towards me "you could had asked for help now give me you hand." He said bending down towards me.

I took his hand and he held me in place by supporting my back with his other hand. I stood up unsure if I could walk. " Can you walk?" He asked looking concerned. " Yeah I'm fine." I tried to move my ankle a little to check if I could still move it. "I'm sorry I'll arrange them all." I started picking up the files. "Then let me help you." He said and we started picking up the files and arranging them.

While I was keeping the last file on the shelf that was again a bit higher for me I felt a hand go round my waste and my back hit a firm chest. "Need help?."He whispered in my ear. His breath was fanning my neck."y-yeah" I said feeling out of breath due to such closeness. Mr. Jones brought his hand up to where mine was, took the file from my hand and kept it in it's place.
"You don't like to aske for help now do you?"

"N-no actually I-"

Suddenly the office door opened and a voice came " hey Lucas-" the person stopped in mid sentence.

Mr. Jones detached from me and we both turned around to find that it was Aiden.

"Did I Disturbed something" Aiden said in a teasing voice.

"No you didn't." Mr. Jones said sharply. "You may go now Ms. Stone." He said turning to me.

I just nodded and left.
