15 : Do you feel that?

Why do holidays end so early? Today I will have to go at work and also submit all the work that I had to do in my rest days.
I don't know what was more tiring the load of work that Lucas gave me to finish in these 2 days or Emma irritating me with her match making ever since I've told her about Lucas kissing me.

She thinks Lucas is a perfect man any women can desire for (only if she knew that what kind of a bipolar man he is) and she makes her wild fantasies about me and him. This girl hasn't grown up yet and still behaves like a teenager.

I hurriedly got dressed so I have time to eat my breakfast as today is gonna be long. There is a board meeting after two days so there'll be a lot of work in office and I also have to avoid Lucas at all costs.

After reaching to the Jones Co. I didn't make coffee for Lucas that I usually do everyday and asked Anna to do it instead.

I also did not come out of my office and if by chance I have to go in Lucas's office to give some documents or something I would still avoid looking at him.

~Two days later~

Today is the board meeting for which I prepared all the presentations and documents. I gave those to Anna and asked her to do the presentation on my behalf.

It's been more than an hour the meeting would have almost ended by now.

There was a knock on my office door and before I could say 'come in' Anna came rushing in" Is everything alright between you and Lucas?"

"Why do you ask" I continue looking at the monitor and started typing.

"I've noticed that you are avoiding him."
"Why would I do that?" I acted nonchalant.
"Answer me seriously I'm not joking around." I look at her to find her dead serious.

"Is there something important that you need to tell me?" I asked.
"Yeah Lucas called you in his office."
"For what?"
"What's the deal between you two? Since you came from Brazil both of you are acting weird...Lucas's temper these days is like an erupting volcano"

"Tell him if there is nothing important then I won't come."
"You know Ella how he is, just go right now or else he would be mad...I'll ask Emma anyways if you won't tell me about what happened"

" You guys talk about me behind my back!" I looked at her in disbelief.
"This is not the right time for discussions just go before Lucas fires every employee in this building."

I went towards his office feeling nervous. I knocked and after hearing a come in I entered. " You called me Mr. Jones." I tried to speak as formally as I could and also stood a bit far from his desk and avoided his deadly gaze.

"Stop that act first. I've told you to call me by my name when no one's around."
"But we are at work so that means we need to be professional."

"If you are that cautious of being professional then why weren't you present at the board meeting?"

"If you haven't forgotten Mr. Jones originally I am not an employee of your company I'm here only to assist you on the project for the Joint Venture between our companies."

"But this board meeting was regarding that same project and you also prepared the presentation and documents so why weren't you there?"

"I did my part on preparing those things and gave them to Anna and as far as I know the meeting went pretty well."

"That's enough." He banged the desk and stood up. He strode towards me and stood in front of me. I was startled at his action but I need not show him that.
"You've been avoiding me since so many days. You just keep the files on my desk and leave without even a glance, you don't attend the meetings, you don't even make coffee for me. You think I don't notice what you're doing?"
