16 : Forgiveness

~ Lucas ~

My heart is racing fast as I have waited for this moment since so long. I sped up the car even more to reach the hospital as soon as possible.

After reaching the hospital we quickly went to the floor where my mom was. I spotted Lillian already standing outside the room in the hallway.

"Hey, how is she now? I got a call from the doctor." She had a smile plastered on her face and looked excited.

"Yeah I got a call too so I hurried here. The doctors are running some tests and then we could meet her."

Even this small wait felt like hours and I was getting impatient by every passing minute. While I was pacing back and forth my eyes landed on Rosella, she looked worried watching us like this.

She looked back at me and gave me a reassuring smile. A few moments later the door opened and the doctor came out.
"Doctor how is she now." I asked worriedly.

"There's nothing to worry, she's recovering well, you can go see her now." Listening that brought peace to my soul something that words can't express.

Lillian and I hurried inside to see mom. "Mom how do you feel now? Do you know how scared I was? Do you know how much I missed you?" Lillian said between sobs holding mom's hand.

"I'm so sorry Lilly that I scared you. I am fine now stop crying." Mom wiped Lilly's tears and she hugged her.

I sat on the chair beside the bed and held my mom's hand kissing her knuckles. I was trying to convince my self that this was real and not just some dream.

"I know it's been a hard time for you." I looked up and saw those beautiful eyes staring back at me with the same love and affection that it held since I was a child.

She held my face and I leaned into her touch and closed my eyes. "I love you Mom".

"I love you too". "Hey! nobody loves me." Lilly pouted. "Kids like you don't get loved". I teased her.

"Don't tease your little sister". Mom lightly nudge my arm. "I love you both". After that we talked for a while and most of it was Lilly telling Mom how hard modeling is. It felt good as everything was falling back in place.

A nurse came in with food for mom. Lilly asked the nurse to leave it to her and started feeding mom. Before leaving the nurse gave me two cups of coffee. " The women who's waiting outside asked to give this to you". I had completely forgotten that Rosella was waiting outside.

"Who's waiting outside Lucas? Bring her in."
Mom asked the nurse to bring Rosella inside.
"She's my assistant. I'll go and tell her that everything's fine so she could leave."

"Anna is like family let her come in I want to see her."

"Anna isn't here the one waiting outside is Rosella"
"Did you fire Anna? you again started being mean to you employees?"

"No mom she's my other assistant." Before I could explain further Rosella entered in the room.

"The nurse said you called me." She said nervously.

"I'll go see her off." I told my mom but she cut me off.
"Why are you standing there come here." I could see Rose was confused but she walked forward and stood beside me.

" Lucas told me that you are his assistant."
"yes." I answered confused as to why are they talking about me.

"I hope he's treating you well, if anything you can always inform me." She talked like a concerned mother of a 5 year old.

"Mom please." Lucas tried to stop his mom.
