26 : Safe Space

~ Third person Pov ~

"I can't tell you a lot for your own good. But you deserve to know that our car accident was all his doing. " The room fell into silence after Lucas said that.

Rosella was shocked after hearing that piece of information. She knew Zach was not a good man  but she never thought if he would be this dangerous. She didn't know how to react as she's never been in such situation before.

"Why is he not in jail then?" 

"We don't have concrete evidence against him and even if we do it's not hard for him to get out of there."

"So is he gonna go around freely without justice being served? " She felt furious at the helplessness of the situation.

"That's not what I said. He won't be free for long. I'll make sure that he suffers for all the crimes that he's done." Lucas said as if he already had a plan for Zach's downfall.

What was the reason that made these two such rivals? Rosella thought because this situation did not look like some normal business rivalry, there was something more to the story.

"Hey? " Lucas called out make her snap out of her thoughts.

"I think you should get some sleep you must be tired. " Rosella just nodded and left.

After her night routine Rosella lay down on her bed. Thought she was tired but she still couldn't sleep. Her anxiety had become worse these days and those negative thoughts made her over think and it was hard to sleep.

Before she could have a second thought she was already standing in front of Lucas's room. The door wasn't locked but she still knocked.
"It's open come in. "

She went in and Lucas was already in his bed.
He moved at a side to give her space to sleep in his bed. They've been sleeping in the same bed since a few days now and it had started to become a habit without them even realizing.

"You okay? " He asked with concern as she was looking stressed.

Rosella didn't say anything and just buried her head in his chest. And after a few seconds tears filled her eyes and she was sobbing. Lucas rubbed her back slowly to comfort her.

"Shh it's okay. " He tried to calme her down.

After she was calm both of them slep just like that cuddled together. They were each other's safe space, they made each other feel relaxed and safe.

~ The Next Morning ~

Lucas had the doctor's appointment for the check up of his fractured arm.

"You've been recovering well. This cast will be off in two weeks. " The doctor said after he was done with his examination of the arm.

It was a good news that his cast will be off in two weeks but that also brought Lucas and Rosella into realization that they just had two weeks to stay together.

Thought they are not in a romantic relationship but these past days that they spend together brought them even closer to each other in many ways, now they had a better understanding between each other and they also knew about there own feelings for each other but yet to express.

Both of them had there own personal reasons and that made them hesitate to accept there feelings. Lucas did not wanted to tell Rosella that he was her childhood friend. As he wanted her to like him for what he is now and not some old connection between them.

On the other hand Rosella was stuck up in the past and was eager to find her childhood crush and hence she did not let herself fall for anyone else. But Lucas was an exception. He made her feel things she had never felt before but it also made her guilty as if she was betraying her childhood friend who she still hasn't found yet. She loved her Iron Man who's real name she didn't know but little did she know that he was just in front of her.
