So two years ago when I was in eighth grade I sat at lunch with some of my friends, four of the five of us (myself included) are a part of the lgbt community. Two of my friends were dating, this was before one of them came out at trans so they were basically one of the very few gay couples in the school at the time. Since I sat with them, and same goes for my other two friends, we all got bullied. It was never physical or verbal but this one group of girls that sat at the table behind ours started to throw food at us. It happened for about two weeks; they'd throw fries or rolls at us and we'd throw them back at first but then just ignored it. The last time they threw food at us was with French fries covered in ketchup. We didn't say anything. Eventually they got up, stood by our table and started to whisper, laugh and look at us, obviously making fun of us. So I yelled at them, a teacher heard and got them in trouble. They ended up having to move tables for the rest of the year but I'm not sure where they moved.

The other one is about the Spanish teacher I had freshman year. He's openly gay but more importantly he's a very kind man and an amazing teacher. The table group that sat next to me would make fun of him constantly. They would also just be flat out homophobic in general. I don't remember exactly what they said because it's been a minute but my group and I knew it was wrong and we should have said something to defend our teacher but we never did and I kick myself everyday for it.
