Mine isn't much a story, it's something I've seen people do. So I'm a pansexual woman and I came out to my family roughly a year ago, but ever since whenever I go someplace where I'd see people on a constant basis (work, camp, volunteer trips) my mother always says something like 'oh don't go being like 'hey! I'm pansexual'' because it would make people 'uncomfortable'. She does this constantly and it's somewhat unintentional, but irks me a little when she does it.
