You saw your mom sitting up in bed, waving at you and already looking much better since last night.
You wanted to cry out loud because you were so relieved, but you held it in by biting the inside of your cheek as you darted towards her.
"y/n! I'm so happy to see you." She gave you a shaky smile before beginning to cough uncontrollably.
"Mom, what's wrong??" You asked worriedly, forehead creasing and beads of sweat trailing from it.
"The doctor said I still have a high fever...but I feel a whole lot better now that you're here. So c'mon, let's talk about happy things, OK? Tell me about the U.A. Sports Festival. I saw you got third place!"
Your mom was always the type to make it seem like everything was OK because she didn't want anyone to worry.
The corner of your lip lifted in a half-hearted smile, because even if you wanted answers from her, you still wanted to be there for her, to cheer her up and make her feel better.
"Yeah..." You glanced down, taking in and exhaling a deep breath before going on. "Only Shoto and Bakugo were able to beat me!" You started, humoring her by going along and answering her inquiries. "At first, when I met Shoto, he was cold and distant but he's really warmed up...turns out he's incredibly sweet and well mannered! He's also got this Half-Cold Half-Hot Quirk. His ice is beautiful yet intense! He's still working on his fire side though... And then, Bakugo! He's such a hothead and full of pride...I guess that's why we kinda had a rocky start, but I learned that he's crazy driven and actually really caring deep down. Oh and his Explosion Quirk is so strong like BOOM and BANG!" You pretended to shoot off a few blasts, forcing out your palms in front of you. "They're just both so amazing! And I just know they're both going to be great Heroes someday! And-"
"Sho-to? And...Baku-go?" Your mom repeated, gazing up at the ceiling. She was trying to get you to slow down so she could wrap her head around everything you just said. "You don't seem too down about losing to them though...is it possible my stubborn and fiery daughter has two crushes...?" Your mom raised and wiggled an eyebrow at you, one of her eyes squinting at you.
You blushed, realizing just how much you gushed on and on about Todoroki and Bakugo.
Your mom stayed silent, sending you a scrutinizing stare.
"Fine..." You groaned, blinking away from your mother's gaze. "Maybe I do..." You admitted, cheeks still red.
"Is there one boy you like more than the other...?"
"I don't know. With both of them, it's different. With Bakugo, I've been able to open up to him and tell him about my life and even all my secrets and he's always been there to listen to me... I trust him completely. With Shoto, he's opened up to me and told me about his past and I could tell I'm one of the only few he's ever trusted with that...and I just want to know more about him when I'm with him." You pursed your lips, swirling a thumb over your other hand. "I couldn't see it before or I just didn't want to admit it, but I'm falling for them both." You sighed deeply, closing your eyes for a moment before continuing on with your next question. "Mom, is it possible to l-love two people at the same time?"
