Chapter 63: Not Now, Not Ever

You met up with Todoroki and Momo at the practical exam site, which looked like a normal neighborhood.

Your e/c eyes and Todoroki's mismatched eyes met, nothing but a silent greeting and unfaltering expression between the both of you because you both trusted and had faith in one another. There was no doubt in your mind that you guys would get through this exam together and successfully pass.

"It's our turn. Let's go." Todoroki and you were about to start walking but he suddenly stopped in his tracks, turning to Momo because he sensed her hesitation. "Yaoyorozu! Are you nervous?"

"N-No..." She could barely make eye contact with you or Todoroki.

"Well, considering who we're up against...I'm sure we'll be fine. Having y/n with us should be an advantage since she knows him fairly well."

"You do...?" Momo raised a brow, her nerves lessening and curiosity peeking.

You nudged Todoroki for the slip of his tongue since only him and Bakugo were still the only ones from your class that knew you were living with Aizawa.

Todoroki's shoulders hunched, knowing he had messed up. But he was glad his back had been facing Momo so she couldn't see his embarrassed face.

"Sorry." He mouthed quietly when your eyes connected with his again.

You released a sigh.

"Yeah...I know him well because...I live with him. Surprise!" You said dryly, throwing up jazz hands.

Wrinkles appeared on Momo's forehead because of the further confusion she was experiencing.

You could tell she had a lot of questions, but Todoroki spoke up, which you were extremely glad for.

"Now's not the time to explain since we're on a time limit...but I have an idea so that we can hurry up and pass this exam." Todoroki stated, back to his usual composed self.

"It doesn't matter what you make. Just keep creating some small objects. When you can't make them anymore, that means Aizawa-sensei is close." Todoroki craned his neck to look back at Momo.

He had been staying one step ahead of you and her, the three of you having just ran through a narrow alleyway.

"This exam will depend on who finds the other first. Once we can see him, I'll draw him to me. Then, you two should split up and run to the escape gate." Todoroki peeked his head left and right at the end of the street to check if Aizawa was anywhere to be seen. "He won't be able to chase down the both of you at the same time."

"And why do you get to have all the fun?" You rested a hand on your hip and Todoroki released a sigh.

"You're the fastest of the three of us with your flame boost...if he doesn't choose to use his quirk on you, that is."

"Fine." You pouted.

"And...what else should I do?" Momo frowned.

"Stay with us until then and just continue making something." Todoroki's eyes squinted, still on high alert of his surroundings.

You were dangling from the lamp post upside down by your legs, arms tied behind your back.

Aizawa had appeared out of nowhere after Momo was suddenly incapable of creating more Russian matryoshka dolls. Aizawa was able to split your group up, isolating you from Todoroki and Momo. He said you were the first one he had planned on capturing since you were the most unpredictable...
