Chapter 8: The Train Ride

Y/n Pov:

Today was the day I was going to Hogwarts. I packed all my stuff in my trolley and changed into my robes. I was able to take (S/n) with me since I tamed him pretty quickly and father got him approved.

(S/n) would talk to me and I would respond back to him, but it was crazy! Me talking to a snake! I was kind of freaked out and decided to keep it a secret about my ability to talk to snakes. He also looks like he's hiding something from me, but he won't even explain anything about it when I ask him! I'll make him talk one day...

We reached the train station while muggles were looking strangely at me and my father. There was no platform 9 ¾, but father went over to a brick wall. Oh, now I remember! Before he could speak I already pushed my trolley forward and went through the brick wall.

It was always felt weird for me, but it was cool seeing everything around me have this warped texture! Not long after my father appeared advising me not to get too crazy. I smiled in response and quickly hugged him saying goodbye before I went to my train.

I kept my head low as I packed my stuff, but kept (S/n) hidden in my robes. I looked around and went to find a compartment. But all of them were full except for one. It was a boy my age that had messy black hair, greenish eyes, circular glasses, and looked a bit thin too.

"Can I sit here?" I asked looking at him, his eyes looked into mine as if he were lost by them, but he snapped out of it and replied," Sure I don't mind."

I sat at the opposite side feeling a bit awkward, though I felt like I should know this boy...

"Are you excited for Hogwarts?" I questioned looking at him with a soft smile.

"I am, but I'm nervous..."

"That's normal, I am too." I empathized smiling at him.

The compartment door opened to reveal a ginger-haired boy with freckles, pale skin, and bluish eyes.

"Sorry do you guys mind if I sit here?" We both let him in. He sat next to me and in response, I scooted a little bit away from him.

"Are you THE Harry Potter?" The redhead asked looking at (I'm guessing) Harry.

I was kind of confused, is Harry famous or something? Harry didn't say anything but moved his bangs that showed a lightning bolt scar on his forehead.

The redhead eyes widen as he introduced himself," I'm Ron, Ron Weasley." Harry just nodded and then smiled a bit. Ron then turned to me and noticed my eyes," Woah cool eyes! I'm Ron nice to meet you." I shook his hand and decided to ask my question," Are you famous or something Harry?"

Ron looked at me strangely but then started to explain,

"He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was the most powerful dark wizard of all time, there was also a curse that kills anyone struck by it, no has survived his wrath until a boy," he told lowering his voice," named Harry Potter lived through He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's wrath. That's why you're called "The Boy Who Lived."

I was utterly shocked by this, I've managed to read The Daily Prophet when Snape wasn't around and I did read an article of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, though I had chills run down my spine while I read it. I just now hope that mad man isn't coming back anytime soon!

I stayed quiet as Ron and Harry spoke to each other. Ron came from a big family of Weasleys. Some of his brothers were attending Hogwarts right now so that was something to look forward to. Sadly they sounded like they were poor and Ron had only got his family hand me downs, he showed his wand to us and then his rat called Scabbers.

"HISSSS" (S/n) immediately slithered out of my robes and lunged at Scabbers! (A/n: DIE RAT DIE)

"SCABBERS NO!" Ron shouted trying to save him, but then he realized it was a venomous cobra. He stood up on the seat as Harry did the same. But I remained in my spot and snapped,"(S/N) YOU PUT THAT POOR RAT DOWN THIS INSTANT!"

(S/n) stopped slithering and let the rat run back to Ron who picked him up and petted him. He then slithered back into my robes after looking like he was rolling his eyes.

"You have a cobra for a pet?!" Ron practically shouted at me. I nodded and lightly petted (S/n) who was poking out from my robe until he slithered back to his hiding spot when the compartment door opened for there to be an old lady with a trolley," Want anything in the trolley dears?"

Ron just took out a pack of ew and said he was all set. I didn't have any money on me. But Harry took out many galleons? How rich is this boy? Anyway, Harry bought almost all of it and we ended with tons of treats to chow down on! I could already tell this was going to be a blast!

I was eating my (f/w/c) while having a chat with my two new friends. Ron talked about Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans and that they were serious when they meant every flavor. I tried one and I was pretty sure it was raw chicken, gross. After that we talked about cards and chocolate frogs, I was starting to get a bit sleepy and doze off until a girl with bushy hair appeared in the compartment.

"Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville lost one." She inquired.

"No, we haven't seen a toad at all." Ron replied," but do you want to see a spell?"

"Sure let's see it." She said crossing her arms.

Now. I don't even know what spell Ron spoke of and instead of something good happening he almost killed Scabbers! Instead of her saying that he did his best she completely mocked him and started gloating on how many spells she knew! But I became impressed and shocked when she came in and did a spell that fixed Harry's glasses!

"Amazing," I muttered as I continued to secretly pet (S/n). We all introduced ourselves, turns out Hermione knew who Harry Potter was too and suggested for the two boys to change into their robes before leaving.

I looked out the window resting my chin on my hand when the boys left to change.

"Ssssomething on your mind?" (S/n) hissed slithering up to look at me in the eyes.

"Nothing I'm just tired" I yawned looking at the light blue skies.

"You sssure?"

"Positive, now you get some rest okay (S/n)." He slightly nodded and went back in, silently sleeping away.
