Evan Hansen - Third

That night Evan didn't do much, seeing as he had arrived home rather late due to his having to walk home from his therapy session. In fact, Evan had pretty much fallen asleep right after going to his room and climbing into bed, barely even remembering to take off his jeans (he did remember after about twenty minutes when he was half asleep- he ran into the wall of his way to the bathroom to change).

A few hours after Evan got home did his mom, though he had already fallen into slumber when she entered his room. Heidi smiled upon seeing her sleeping son, having a feeling that he definitely needed the rest; She gave Evan a gentle kiss on his forehead, gently running her delicate fingers through his blond hair a couple of times. "Sleep well, my little guy."

Evan woke up the next morning with smile on his face, feeling a bit better and genuinely more rested than usual.

Time to start the day!

Heidi didn't have to make it to the hospital for another hour or so, which was suprising as she usually was already at her job by the time her son woke up, and offered to drive Evan to school, stopping at a local coffee shop along the way and getting a blueberry muffin for the each of them and a small coffee for herself.

"Bye, Ev!" Heidi waved to her son with a smile once they arrived at the school. Evan smiled back, joyous to have been able to spend the morning with his mother for once. "Bye mom!"

The school day was boring, nothing out of the ordinary happening. Though, when Evans free period rolled around, he knew he had to write his letter, the one Dr. Sherman had required he write to himself everyday; for once, Evan didn't completely dread writing the letter.

Dear Evan Hansen,

Todays going to be a good day and here's why:

Because today you woke up with a smile on your face.
Because today your mom was home and able to drive you to school.
Because today you got to go to that cute little café run by that sweet old couple.
Because today a gay couple came out at school and was accepted.
Because today you are happy.

Sincerely, Me.

Evan smiled as he finished his letter.
