Evan Hansen - Third
Evan couldn't believe it- Jared was actually being nice to him!
He's never nice to me! This is so unbelievable, so surreal!
A light pink dusted over Evans cheeks, a giddy feeling arising in his chest. The blond let out a small giggle without realizing. "Therapy, please!"
Jared nodded slightly at him. This wasn't the first time- and it probably wouldn't be the last- Jared had taken Evan to his therapy appointment, though it was usually because he had to and not because he wanted to. (Did he really want to do this? Why was Jared doing this?)
Evan turned around in his seat, facing forward with a smile gracing his lips as Jared drove.
"Zoe Murphy asked me about her brother today. Weird, right? I thought those two hated each other!" Jared's voice filled the car. "Did she say anything to you?"
"No?" Evan was now just as confused as Jared had been earlier. "I did see Connor though... I think he was high again, his eyes looked red."
"Probably." Silence fell over the two for a few minutes. Evan wished the silence would stay when Jared spoke again.
"So, where'd all those bruises come from, acorn? Did you fall out of another tree?" Jared snickered, causing the giddy feeling in Evans chest to be replaced by an overwhelming sense of panic; the blond hoped Jared wouldn't take notice of his change in demeanor.
"Oh, um..." Evan willed his voice to steady, to no avail, and glanced out the window. "Hey, look at that! We're, uh- we're here!" Evan, thankful they had arrived, was quick to undo his seatbelt and open the car door just as Jared parked the car, too busy to react when Evan made a run for it. "Bye, Jared!"
