"We'll have to cut your hair too."

Jaylee

"There you guys are."

Ethan and I both moved away from each other quickly causing me to bump on the cabinet next to the door of my room. "Or am I interrupting something here?" Grayson continues, as he walks closer towards us.

"Hey Grayson." I managed to say confidently, but my mind is still racing asking myself what the fuck just had happened?

"I woke up three hours ago and the two of you weren't here," He says, yawning. "Where did you go?" He asks.

"Out," Ethan answers. "We went for a walk." He says.

Grayson nods as he yawns, stretching his arms. "I still feel sleepy."

"We should probably sleep too." Ethan tells me, ruffling my hair and heads for his room.

I am the only one left there in the hallway standing still as my mind tries to process what just happened and what is about to happen if only Grayson hadn't walked in.

We were really about to kiss.

-

"Jennifer?" I ask brows furrowing as I stop halfway through eating the sandwich that Grayson had prepared earlier.

"Yes, Jennifer." Grayson responds, as he place his legs over the table scanning through the tv channels.

"From now on, your name is Jennifer," Ethan says, in a satisfied tone as he finishes his whole glass of cold water. "Unless you prefer Jenny." he winks.

"Is this really necessary?" I ask looking at both of them. They both nod their heads as Ethan picks up a newspaper from the table.

He nods. "We may not be that much on the news right now, but sooner or later, maybe we will. It's better to be careful too, y'know?" He says.

"We'll have to cut your hair too." Grayson adds, his attention still glued onto the television. "And meet Dylan." Grayson points at Ethan.

I swear, even with these little changes, my head is going to explode. "Dylan? This is confusing." I roll my eyes at them.

"You'll get used to it." Ethan or should I say Dylan says patting my shoulders and settling himself onto the seat next to me.

Sighing, I look at the television instead. I wish I could just go back and repeat last night. This is all so confusing and tiring. I thought leaving that place would free me from a whole lot of questions and problems.

Now I figured that I'm wrong again, like I always am.

-

"So, this...changing of names thing" I ask Ethan as we exit the store that night. "Is it like at all times?" I ask him.

Ethan opens the passenger seat car door and let me in first before running towards his side of the car. "Well, we'll use those names in public." He answers matter of factly.
"And the thing about your hair, we'll dye it and cut it short." He says, causing my eyes to widen.

"What about you?" I ask.

"A little haircut will do." He replies. "It will work" He starts the car engine and after a few minutes hit the road. I roll down the car window as I stare outside letting the cool breeze of night air touch my cheeks.

I remember last night. It was fun. I live for those moments, its like I'm free without worries, and it's as if my life is normal.

We turn around another street and I can see the familiar houses and some apartments close to Grayson's place. I sigh, adjusted my coat as the car soon comes to a stop infront of the apartment.

"I'm going to be pretty blunt with you," Ethan says, as he turns the engine off, his other hand not leaving the steering wheel. I look at him with confusion while waiting for whatever he has to say.

We didn't get off of the car immediately since he obviously has something important to announce or whatsoever. He looks at me straight in the eye, gaze never leaving mine obviously.

I did the same back, wondering what on earth is he going to say that make him look so serious. Is it a bad thing?

"I like you, Jaylee," he finally says quite faster that I almost didn't catch on immediately. He likes me? As in like like?

Wait, I couldn't keep up.

Maybe he means as friends.

Anything other than that is completely delusional.

"You don't have to say anything. I just wanted you to know." He says. We both got out of the car after as we both make our way inside his apartment.

"I'll call you for dinner, okay?" He says and I nod as I head into my room.

I smile and proceeded into my room as I think about what Ethan had just said earlier.

I shake my head at myself thinking, it's impossible.
