"You all need to get out of here. The cops are looking for you."
Jaylee
"How are you feeling?" Ethan asks, later that night, as the three of us sat on the little steps at the back of the house.
"Better." I breathe.
"You know, we're really happy for you." Ethan says.
"I'm just happy to be out of that dump." I say, looking at them. "About Johnson," I start. "What are we gonna do about it? I mean, it's just a matter of time before he tell on us." I say, trying not to panic but it isn't working.
"I know," Ethan answers. "And the text message we got, it's frustrating. but we'll make it work, don't worry." He says.
"How?" Grayson asks.
"Jaylee is finally bonding with her parents. We can't just leave again and move to another place to hide." He says.
"But the question is, why is he even here?" I ask. The two guys sigh. Ethan crosses his arms over his chest.
The wind blew on my cheeks, and a strand of hair sneaked its way out of my bun. It was silent, peaceful. And if the situation is different, I would have enjoyed this serenity. But not now, when we still have problems in our hands.
"Maybe we should out the Asylum. I mean, report all the horrible, unhuman things that they perform in there to the patients. That would help, in a way." Ethan suggests.
"That's a good idea." Grayson nods.
"But how are we supposed to do that? With our backgrounds, they won't believe us." I ask. I looked up at the sky, there are no stars.
A car engine on can be heard from the front of the house, and I wondered if there are any visitors. "Is there someone out there?" Ethan asks, seeming to voice out my thoughts.
We all looked at each other, shrugging and just as when we're about to stand up from our seats to see who was out there, the backdoor swung open revealing my mom, with a distressed look on her face.
Wrinkles obvious on her forehead, and her tied hair in a messy bun as she spoke, "You need to get out of here. The cops are looking for you."

My legs feels weak twenty minutes into running away from my parent's house. I stumble twice while running through this place earlier, and Ethan has my hand on his the whole time, ensuring that I didn't lose sight of the way and get left behind.
"How far yet?" I ask, trying to catch my breath as I tried to keep pace with the two other guys.
"Just far enough for the cops to lose us," Ethan answered until he finally came to a stop, under a tree, leaning his back against it as he too, struggled to keep his breathing.
"Johnson did it, didn't he?" I asked, thinking about how my eyes grew wide at the sight of him, and for sure maybe he did too after seeing me. My hair may be dyed into a different color but that doesn't mean he won't recognise me.
"Of course that dick would." Ethan spits, finally letting go of my hand as he sat onto the ground. I sat on the ground too, suddenly feeling the thirst for water. But there's no any drinks that we have in hand right now, unfortunately. We weren't prepared. And I'm actually worried about my parents.
"What do we do next?" I ask, looking at the both of them. "Do we head back or?" I trail off.
"I think we're going back to Grayson's apartment." Ethan says, looking at Grayson, which looked down on his feet then up to the sky before saying,
"I guess that's what we're doing."
The sky is pitch black, and I'm feeling sleepy. I don't know what time is it, but one thing is for sure, it's late at night. And we're out here in the woods, after running in this direction hiding from the cops.
We can't get into the main road because for sure they'll see us. And also, we didn't have the chance to get Grayson's car since obviously, if we do that, we're probably back in the asylum by now.
"How are we even going to get there?" Grayson asks, after a few moments of sitting in silence. "We don't have the car, and we can't go back to Jaylee's parent's house."
"And plus, Grayson's apartment is far from here if I'm not mistaken, right?" I add. Ethan sighed then turned to Grayson.
"Do you have your wallet with you?" He asks him.
"I left it." Grayson answers, frustrated, "I didn't think I would be needing that in the middle of the night." He says.
I looked at Ethan, then at Grayson, and then into my feet, then up to the sky. My heart is still beating fast because of the run we had earlier, and I still feel dehydrated, and nervous.
The cops were onto us, and my nightmare of going back, being locked up in the asylum might come true if we didn't act fast and think clearly and right.
"I guess we have no choice but to carefully make our way back in the house," Ethan says, after a long minute of just staring at each other.
"We need the money and the car." He adds."And I need to see my parents," I say. "I need to know if they're okay."
We just started to bond, though awkward at first, it's getting better. And it would really suck if that would just start to stop again.
"So how do we get back there?" I ask. The two guys looked at each other, seeming to think of a logical solution to answer my question. A gust of wind blew my cheeks, making me shiver. I hugged my arms to my body, offering a teensy bit of warmth in it as I wait for the other two to come up with a plan.
I'm not good with plans, so I always let them be. But sometimes I think that's a disadvantage. What would happen if they weren't here? If I have no one but myself?
"What if..." Ethan trails off. "We sneak there tomorrow, maybe afternoon? But we need to make sure that the cops weren't lingering around there anymore, then once we're clear, we sneak in. Jay, you get that chat with your parents, tell them you'd come back but we just have to work things out. And then Gray and I would get everything we might need, wallet, phone or whatever and then we drive back to his apartment after. We don't have to take long, we need to act fast." He says.
"That would be good." Grayson pipes up. "We use the backdoor, of course." He says. I nod, but a thought crossed my mind.
"But... where are we going to sleep?"
