"So, what is the plan?" Grayson asked, entering our room, holding a bottle of water in his hands. He sat down on my bed, leaning against the bed frame.
I looked at Ethan and he looked at me, us both realising we didn't actually come up with a plan yet— we were busy doing other things last night.
"I..Uh—Ethan?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
He looked caught off guard but covered quickly. "We could go to the police?" He suggested, shrugging.
"Would they believe two asylum escapees who are believed to be psychotic?" Grayson raised an eyebrow.
"He has a point." I agreed, with a nod.
"Well we can't just sit around here. Johnson and Lewis are of looking for us, we won't be safe for much longer." Ethan sighs, leaning his head back against the bed frame.
"I know, but what are our options right now?" I sat down. "The cops won't believe us, they'll hurt arrest us. We can't stay here, we have no option but to run." I said.
"Go where?" Grayson asked. "Because we have no idea where we are and eventually they're going to catch up with us, or someone is going to spot us and call the cops."
"I have no idea. All I know is that we can't stay here." I said.
Ethan sat up abruptly, hurrying over to the windows with haste. He opened the curtains and looked out of the window. I watched as he frowned. "I knew I heard sirens." He mumbled, turning around. "The police are here."
"WHAT?!" Grayson bolts up.
"We need to leave." I looked at the two of them.
The door was kicked in, multiple police officers running inside. My heart practically fell out of my ass and I leapt up off the bed. An officer grabbed me by my arms and shoved me up against the wall.
"Hey! Don't touch her!" Ethan yelled, right before an other officer did the same to him and Grayson.
"If I were you, I'd keep your mouth shut, kid. You're already in enough trouble as it is!" The police officer who had me by my arms yelled at Ethan and handcuffed me.
"We didn't do anything!" I yelled, trying to push him off of me, but his told was too strong. I looked over at Ethan who was looking over at me, a guilty expression playing on his face.
"Oh? So escaping an asylum and causing chaos in town isn't doing anything?" The officer spat at at me.
I rolled my eyes. "I told you, we're innocent!" I pleaded but he wasn't having it. I heard someone chuckle from the door frame. I looked over and I swear steam exploded from my ears. "Lewis." I muttered.
"We've finally got you. All of you. We're not letting you go." He taunted, the smirk never leaving his face. If I wasn't handcuffed right now, I'd punch him in the face.
We were all manhandled outside, getting shoved into squad cars. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense." He spoke.
We're so fucked.
