Day of Trial

Today was the day.

I tightened the laces on my black converse and straightened out the orange jumpsuit I was wearing. I had a horrible feeling in my stomach, but we were innocent, I hoped we would be able to convince the judge. I looked down at the orange jumpsuit, I hated to admit it, but the asylum's jumpsuit was a lot nicer.

These last few days had been a nightmare. I hadn't seen Ethan nor Grayson and I was beginning to feel worried. I had no idea what my parents and Jessica had planned, or what was going to happen at the trial.

The same young officer came towards my cell and tapped lightly on the bars. "Ready to go, Miss Wills?" He asked me.

I looked over at him, nodding my head with a sigh. "I guess so." I muttered, putting my hands through the gap in the bars so he could handcuff me, for hopefully the last time.

"Whatever happens, happens. Okay?" He tried to comfort me, however it wasn't working. He tightened the handcuffs around my wrists slightly, and then unlocked the cell door.

"You believe us, don't you?" I asked him as he walked me towards the entrance of the jail. He looked like he was thinking about it as we approached the cars that we would be riding to the court room in.

"I don't know," He said as he opened the door for me. He guided me inside the car. "But to me, you guys don't seem like crazy people who need to be locked up."

He then shut the door.

Ethan

I could feel my breathes become rapid and shaky as I stared blankly at the walls in front of me. Blood pounded in the back of my head. I could feel myself trembling. I was nervous, so nervous of what our outcome would be in just a few short hours.

"Dolan." I snapped my head in the direction of the voice. An officer stood proudly in his uniform, holding the door open. "They're ready for you." He tried to keep his voice serious, but I could hear the smugness in his voice; he was happy about this. He knew the outcome I was going to face. He was waiting for it.

I stood up, feeling the handcuffs that were too tightly around my wrist pull on the skin. I was going to have to get used to the pain. I brushed past him, however he grabbed my shoulder before I would walk any further. I stiffened under his touch.

"Don't look so beat up about this, Dolan. Everyone gets what they deserve."

He opened the door and helped me out of the car. I felt like I was going to be sick. I had no idea what was going on. What were my parents planning? How would they manage to convince the judge and jury we were innocent?

We walked inside and I looked out for Ethan and Grayson. I felt disappointed when I didn't see them yet. We headed inside the courtroom and there was so many people inside.

The jury were all seated and looking sharp, my family and my lawyer were sitting down with Ethan and Grayson's family. Relief washed over me as I stared at the two boys. The twins were sitting together at the top of the room, both wearing orange jumpsuits too, like me.

I was seated next to them and Ethan looked up at me, a wide smile taking over his features as he noticed me sit down next to him. "I missed you." He grinned.

"I missed you too." I whisper, smiling softly at him.

"I would hug you, but, you know." He said, referring to the handcuffs covering his wrists. I gave him a lopsided grin.

Soon, everyone was seated in their positions and the judge made his appearance. I gulped, this was the man who would decide on whether or not I spend the rest of my life in prison or not. He sat down in his high, intimidating chair and the trial started.

I looked over at Ethan and Ethan looked over at me.

"Let's get this over with."
