Droopy eyes and a dizzy head. Jungkook still couldn't comprehend everything that had happened. The woman right in front of him was the very reason he kept coming back. He was happy—his perseverance had finally paid off—but it felt completely unreal.
And her words, the way she said his nickname... everything felt so nostalgic, bringing him back to a time he had never forgotten.
Jungkook blinked at her smiling face. "No, no, no," he said, shaking his head and trying to rid his system of the alcohol. "I'm drunk." He slapped his face.
Lisa laughed softly. He was still dumbfounded.
"Kookie," she chuckled, "you talked a lot earlier and never seemed to run out of questions, and now you're just going to look at me?" She stood up. "Come on, Kook. Are we just going to stare at each other until we rot?" she joked, but Jungkook still couldn't believe it.
Yes, he had hoped this would happen one day, and now, tonight, it had. He never expected it; he only hoped. It was a big difference, and now he had no idea what to do.
"I—I..." he tried to speak.
"Don't you miss me?" Lisa asked, opening her arms for a hug. She waited for a few moments, but before he could respond, a shout from inside broke the silence.
"Noona!"
Lisa glanced over and saw Taehyung calling for her. "I'll be there in a bit!" Taehyung nodded and disappeared upstairs.
"Well, I guess I have my answer. See you tomorrow, Jungkook. Goodnight." She said her goodbye and turned to go inside, but just as she was about to enter the house, a pair of firm, veiny arms wrapped around her waist.
"I really do, Lisa. I really do," Jungkook said, hugging her from behind.
Lisa smiled and turned to face him. She gently fixed his hair, which was falling over his face, as Jungkook pulled her into another hug.
"I miss you," he whispered. "So much."
