Isaac had fallen asleep... well no... Isaac was forced to fall asleep when I hit him over the head with my alarm clock after we had finished doing what we were doing. He didn't seen it coming. He sat up on the bed, pulled on his boxers and then was out cold.

I got dressed into a pair of ripped denim jeans and a lace black singlet top, not caring about the cold temperature outside and left.

The party was still roaring and Isaac and I had been gone for about 45 minutes. I saw Scott, Kira and Allison talking over in a corner, probably about what they were meant to do next and then saw Jason on the other side of the room. I flashed him a smile and walked up to him, grabbing his hand.

"This noise is giving me a headache, want to take a walk?" I asked.

He nodded. "Sure, but won't you get cold?"

"No, I like the cold, besides if I do we can always find somewhere warmer to go." I said in a teasing tone. He smiled and followed me out. We left without the others noticing, but when I was walking through the door I looked back to see Scott walking upstairs, probably to go and see what was taking so long.

"So where do you want to go?" Jacob asked. Plan number two was in action.

I smiled and grabbed his hand, "Come on." I started running and pulling him behind me.

"Wait... are you heading for the preserve?" he asked.

"Yep, have you ever been for a moonlit stroll through the woods before?"

"In this town that's a suicide mission."

"Don't worry... I'll protect you." I said with a mischievous grin. He laughed and kept running with me.

"Are you sure you won't get cold."

"Not if we keep running." I shot back. "You're meant to a sporty guy... I bet you can't beat me!" I said as I let go of his hand and picked up the pace.

"Wait! You have to give me some warning!" He yelled as he started running after me.

We were deep in the woods and I stopped and spun back around as he caught up. "I'm only little I need an advantage."

"I don't think you need any advantage. I've never seen a girl run that fast before." He said.

I smiled and came closer to him, wrapping my arms around his neck. "I'm special."

"You are."

"Well?"

"Well, what?"

"We're alone. Standing in the middle of nowhere, the only light is the moon and stars and yet you're standing their like an idiot." I teased.

"Okay, I can take a hint." He said, but before our lips met mine I placed my right index finger over his mouth. "What?"

I gave him a small smile. "I am sorry, but I need to prove a point."

"To who?"

"To Scott... and Stiles, Lydia, Allison, Isaac... although I think he just learnt." I said with a small chuckle recalling the past hour.

"What point is it?" he asked getting really confused.

"That they can't save everyone and that their hero act is beyond out dated." I said as my smile dropped. I leant up and gave him a kiss on the cheek before plunging my fist through his chest and grabbed hold of the vital organ behind his ribs. "It's just bad luck on your part, Jack." I whispered in his ear as I pulled back.

His mouth was open like he was trying to scream or say something, but then his body fell at the same time as I let his heart fall through my fingers.

I stood above him looking down into his eyes. Green eyes. They reminded me of Derek.

Derek...

What if he had been Derek... my dream... it came true.

Not the same way, but Jake...

Jake.

His name was Jake.

He was 17.

His eyes were still boring into mine with a dead blank stare. Cold. They looked cold.

Cold.

I was cold. The temperature around me was cold. I had goose bumps on my arms. Why didn't I feel them before?

A tear fell down my cheek. It wasn't fake. I didn't want it to fall, it just did. I followed the drop as it fell, landing in the centre of the bloody mess on Jake's chest I had created. I lifted my hand up and looked at the blood decorating it and more tears came followed by sobs.

My legs gave out under me and I fell to the ground, crawling back desperately trying to get away until my back hit a tree and I was paralysed.

"Oh god. No, no, no, no, no." I looked at my hands again and the blood was still there as they started to shake. "No, no, no."

I fumbled around in my pocket until I found my phone. I tried dialling but my hands were shaking too much. I forced them to calm down and found the Sheriff's number, but stopped myself before I rang. I couldn't ring him. What would he say? I changed my mind and found Scott's. What would Scott say? No. There was only one person I could ring. Only one person that wouldn't hate me. Only one person I could trust.

"Peter?"
