"The Bitch Had To Die "

Michael had just climbed into the driver seat starting up the engine.  He exhaled for the umpteenth time since climbing in his truck. He pulled a fist full of his hair sighing yet again glancing at his phone vibrating on the seat. He had half the mind not to pick it up,but he had no other choice--this was the only way.  He picked up his phone  glanced at the screen shaking his head. He hesitated exhaling again, but decided to read through the last few text messages that were sent to him...

How long do you suppose I wait? I've said, a need is a need, and I need you. Come home, baby.

Michael, what's  keepin'you? I'm dying here without you.

What the hell are you doing? Where are you?

He shook his head then scrolled through the original message.

Baby, guess where I'm at...The one place we've never made love and now we have the place all to ourselves. Hurry

Michael dropped the phone on the seat. The initial shock of seeing the picture was overwhelming, although he saw it before leaving the hospital.  He pressed harsher on the gas pedal as he skated across the freeway. Teesha seemed well and she welcomed his kiss, which he thought was reassuring. Maybe their marriage had a fighting chance even with what happened today. Each time Teesha escaped great harm his heart was grateful ,but how many more chances does  she really have with Kimbra still in her derranged mind-set. Michael's mind was drowned with memories of his marriage to Teesha. A smile crept his lips when he thought of  the snooty face she made  across the dinner table that night.  He often thought had he just refused the undercover assignment his marriage wouldn't be in the  pandemonium its in.  And then his lips turned down and heart break snuck again. It was like his emotions was a see-saw going up and down, and in circles like a merry-go-round. He envisioned her face when they made love. The way her fingers grasped through his soft curls made him smile again.  Her sighs tickled his ear and his hands followed along the curves of her thighs--they were underneath each others love spell.  Again if only he'd declined the assignment life would be much happier for his family. Nothing will ever change the events that occurred though, but he couldn't help to think of the what ifs. Finally, he let go of his past demons  ---it was time to focus on what to do to ensure the protection of his family.  His speed  accelerated as he pushed through traffic  thinking of what to say or how to handle the inevitable.  He made a right turn into the cove where his home sat--once upon a time a happy home...

After sitting in his truck,Michael finally opened the door taking a deep breath. He got out closed the door behind him leaving his phone on the seat. He walked to the side door that leads to kitchen using his door key as memories of Teesha came to mind.  He had entered  picturing her standing there with one of his shirts on. He always told her how gorgeous she was in his white collar  shirts. With just a bit of cleavage peeking through  and her eyes staring deeply at his. Today was quite a different scene with his wife laying in a hospital bed. After entering the kitchen  he dropped his keys on the breakfast bar like always when he entered from that way. There was a different aroma in the air this time, music surrounded every corner and he could hear singing coming from the upstairs bedroom . Step by step he climbed the stairway  until he was at his bedroom door.  She must've heard him because she stood there holding two glasses of mimosas in her hands....

"Baby. You made it. I was worried."she walked toward Michael in a  red robe with nothing on underneath.  The curve of her right breast was visible as she walked closer towards him. She smiled deeply standing on her tiptoes and pecked his lips."Here, lover " she held the glass in front of his face. He stared with vengeance his his eyes not parting a word or batting an eye. "Cat hasn't got your tongue yet, baby."she smirked.  "Why are you so silent with me?"she asked walking next to the table sitting his prepared beverage down. She took a sip from her glass then sat her glass down  next to his. After folding her arms like a bemused school teacher she shook her head walking back to him."Baby.  I can only imagine how you must  feel." she said with sympathy stroking his chest. "But the bitch had to die!" She hissed. "There was no other way,Michael and in time, baby, you'll see it was for the best. Now. Please, baby make love to me." she begged lifting her hands to her shoulders pulling her robe off letting it pool to the floor as if it was the red sea."Missed me,baby?"she asked draping her arms across his shoulders.
