"Alright, first things first. We need to set some rules for you and your powers, just until you master how to use them." Chris started explaining. "First rule is to never aim your hands at anyone, we can't risk a bolt hitting one of us. Second rule is to never aim your hands at a tree, we can't risk starting a giant fire. Rule number three, never use your powers without me around." Blaze pouted a little at that rule. "And rule number four, don't aim your hands at any animals, it would be just rude to strike an animal with a lightning bolt."

"Geez, you act like her hands are weapons." Silver stated. "That's because they are, and that's what worries me." Chris sighed. "I may be strict right now but I have to be. Just until you learn how to use your powers and control them. I don't want to know what happens when you loose control of them." Blaze quickly nodded, she didn't want to find that out either.

"Let's begin your training. First we will start with your aim." Chris walked over to some white flowers that he had spotted when they first arrived. He picked a few of the flowers then he grabbed some sticks off the ground. "I want you to try hitting your lightning at each of these things, I will be by the lake so I can splash water onto these after you hit them, or the grass if you miss." Chris explained as he walked over to the lake. He laid out the sticks and flowers near the edge of the lake for Blaze to practice her aim at. "Silver, I want you to stay behind Blaze, incase something goes wrong, I don't really know what to expect from this." Silver nodded as he walked over to Blaze and he stood behind her then Chris took a few steps back, away from the sticks and flowers so Blaze wouldn't hit him by accident.

"Start with one of the flowers first. Take it slow and steady." Blaze nodded to Chris then she held her hand out towards the flower. A bolt of lightning shot from her hand and struck the flower causing a small flame to appear but Chris splashed the flower with the lake water before the flame could get bigger.

"Nice shot, now try the other two flowers in a row." Chris told Blaze. She took a deep breath then she held out her hand again towards the next flower and another bolt of lightning hit the flower. Blaze did as Chris said and she made another lightning bolt hit the next flower right after the first one.

"Two in a row, awesome!" Silver exclaimed. Chris splashed the flowers with water before speaking. "Well you haven't missed yet, which is quite a surprise." Chris added. "Let's step this up a notch. Hit all three sticks in a row without stopping." Blaze nodded then she held her hand out and she hit each of the sticks with a lightning bolt one after the other. "I did it!" Blaze smiled then Chris splashed the sticks.

"Well clearly I'm going to easy on you. Let's see if you can shoot a bolt without starting a fire." Blaze looked at Chris shocked. "How am I supposed to do that? My lightning is so hot that it always starts a fire." "She's right." Silver chimed in. "How do you expect her to not start a fire?" Chris thought for a moment before speaking. "Concentrate all of your thoughts on the thing you are going to strike. Imagine that you won't spark a fire. Picture only a burnt flower." Blaze nodded still a bit confused at what he was asking her to do.

"Go get another flower Silver." Chris told Silver who nodded and he ran off to get a flower. Silver quickly returned with another flower then he set it down by the others and he walked back over to Blaze then he stood behind her and watched. "Now go ahead Blaze, remember, concentrate on the thing you are going to strike."

Blaze closed her eyes and took a deep breath then she cleared her mind of everything, except for the burnt flower that she was now picturing. She opened her eyes and held out her hand to the flower, a bolt of lightning formed and struck the flower but no fire had started this time.

"You did it Blaze! You did it!" Silver cheered then Blaze smiled. "I can't believe I actually did that." "You're very talented with this Blaze, I don't know how you're doing this, or why you can do this, but I can tell one thing, you were meant to have these powers."

What Chris had said meant the world to Blaze. She didn't feel scared about her powers anymore. Instead she felt like she was always meant to have them. She knew that this was a new beginning for everyone. Good and bad.
