Silver looked up at the man with scared eyes. "Were you coming in here to steal?" Silver stayed silent. The man was already right. "Where's your mother and father?" The man asked. Silvers eyes filled with tears the moment he thought about his mothers and fathers death. The man noticed his tears then he got down on one knee in front of Silver. He slowly and carefully untied Silvers mask. The man lifted it away from Silvers face, he was even younger then the man had thought.

"Lets start from the beginning, my name is Chris. What's yours?" Silver looked up at him, "it's Silver." "That's a unique name." Silver nodded. "So explain to me why you're here and I won't tell anyone about this." Silver sighed before answering, "My parents died in a fire...I'm alone with my baby sister in the forest. We have no money or anything. I was...I was going to take money so I could survive with my baby sister." Silver looked down full of guilt.

"There's an orphanage you can go to. I'll take you there." Chris said before standing up. Before Chris could move Silver grabbed onto his arm. "No, I can't go to that place. I have to stay in the forest." Chris looked down at him a bit confused. "My dad told me to run into the forest, that was the last thing he told me to do before he died, and I'm going to obey his last wish. Until the day I die." Chris saw the determination in his eyes, he couldn't take that away from the boy.

"How old is your sister?" Silver looked up at him, "she's only a day old. She was born yesterday." After hearing this the mans eyes widened. "Where is she?" He asked. "In a cave in the forest. I left her there so I could get some things to help us survive." Silver explained. "Which is why I needed money, for food and maybe a book or something about how to take care of a baby." Chris nodded in understanding. "How about we make a deal. If you promise to never steal again I will give you everything you need to survive, all for free." Silver tilted his head. "You would do that for me? A stranger." Chris nodded. "Of course, you're just a little boy. Besides, no one should have to survive in a forest with nothing. Now come with me to the back, I'll get you everything you need." Silver nodded then followed Chris to the back of the store.

A short while later Chris had given Silver everything he needed to survive, from blankets to bags of food. Silver thanked Chris many times before heading off into the forest. He was glad to have met someone new who would help him in his non ideal situation.

The walk back to the cave was long and exhausting for Silver, especially with all the bags he had to carry. He arrived just as the sun was starting to set. "Good, I have a little sunlight left to set everything up." Silver said as he walked into the cave where he saw his baby sister still laying on the cold cave floor. "Oh good, you're still here." Silver set all the bags down at the front of the cave before walking over to his sister and picking her up.

"I have a nice thick blanket for you to lay on now, and a pillow so the ground won't be so cold on your little body." Silver walked over to the bags and pulled out a black blanket. "This one is for you." He laid the blanket down on the ground then gently put his baby sister on it. "Now that you're on something more comfortable, I'm going to set everything up."

Silver took everything out of the bags starting with the pillows and blankets. He made two beds out of a few blankets and pillows. He then moved onto setting out the bags of food along with a small lantern for light and a few other things they would need. By the time he had finished setting everything up it was already dark outside with only the small moonlight beams shining through the leaves on the thick trees that stretched on for miles through the forest.

Silver yawned as he walked over to his baby sister who lay still on the black blanket. He leaned over and gently picked her up. "The nice guy named Chris gave me some special milk for you to have, he said you would be hungry so I can give it to you now." Silver walked over to the bags of food and he picked up the clear bottle that was full of the baby formula. He walked to the front of the cave and sat down next to the cave wall so he could lean against it while he was feeding his sister.

"Now we can have some peace and quiet." Silver sighed as he started to feed his baby sister the formula. He looked out at the moonlight shining on the small lake that was near the cave. Silver looked up to see if the stars were visible but the thick tree branches blocked his view. He turned his attention back to his sister who was drinking her milk.

"I'm not sure what to do from here. Mom and dad are gone, we are alone in this cave with basically nothing except the necessities to keep us alive and I have to raise you all on my own. I don't know how I'm going to do it, I really don't. I wish mom and dad were here to help me." Silver waited until his sister was done drinking the milk. When she finished he stood up and put the bottle back with the food. He then walked over to their beds, which were really only blankets and a pillow. Carefully laying the baby down, Silver tucked her in so she wouldn't freeze from the cool air. He laid down next to her and sighed.

"Goodnight sis, I'll see you in the morning." Silvers eyes closed, letting him fall into a deep sleep.
