Within the next few days Silvers attitude got worse and worse. He would completely ignore things that Blaze would say and he wouldn't even acknowledge her anymore, he wasn't friendly to Chris either. Blaze was trying to think of ways she could try and figure out what was wrong with Silver, but every time she would talk to him he would just ignore her.
Eventually Silver started leaving work early. Since he left early, Chris let Blaze pick up where he had left off. Blaze was happy to be earning more money, but she was sad that Silver kept leaving early. One evening after he had left early, Chris walked up to Blaze who was now doing Silvers job.
"I think it's time you try talking to Silver about why he has been leaving." Blaze sighed before she stopped and turned towards Chris. "I have tried, he just ignores me and pretends to be asleep. I don't know how to get him to talk." Chris thought for a moment before speaking. "Try leaving the store as soon as Silver does. Walk home with him and try to talk with him about it. Maybe he will open up if you walk back with him." Blaze nodded. "Yeah, I'll try that, hopefully it works and he will open up." "Let's hope it does." Chris said.
They both continued to work until the sun started to set. "Alright, I'm closing up shop." Chris said as he grabbed his keys out of his pocket. Blaze walked out of the store followed by Chris who turned off the lights and locked the door behind them.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Chris said. "Alright, bye." Blaze waved to him before walking off. She walked into the forest and back to the cave where Silver was. Just like always, he was laying in his bed made of pillows and blankets pretending to be asleep. Blaze got ready for bed then she laid down.
"Goodnight Silver." Blaze said before closing her eyes. She was use to not getting a response since he did the same thing every night. Eventually she fell fast asleep.
The next morning Blaze and Silver woke up early like usual when they heard the birds chirping. They both got out of bed and got ready for the day then they went straight to the city. When they got to the store, they saw Chris was already inside working. Blaze and Silver walked inside then Silver started working right away without saying a word.
"Good morning Chris." Blaze walked over to him. When Chris turned to her she gave him a soft smile. "Morning Blaze." Chris gave her a smile as well. "Do you need any help?" She asked him. "If you could help me with these boxes that would be great, I have to move them all to the back storage room." "Sure thing." Blaze started to help Chris carry the boxes.
A few hours had gone by of them all working in the store when Silver decided to leave again, but this time it was even earlier then the previous times. When he left the store Blaze looked to Chris who nodded before saying, "Go". Without hesitation, Blaze left the store and ran after Silver. She quickly caught up to him and started walking into the forest by his side.
"Silver, please tell me what has been going on with you. You don't acknowledge Chris at all anymore and you completely ignore me. You have also been leaving the store early and—" Silver cut her off before she could finish talking. "You know what? I'm done with this, I'm done with it all." Blaze tilted her head a bit confused. "What do you mean you're done?" "I'm done, I'm tired of dealing with you all. I'm done working and I'm done taking care of you. You have only been a big burden that I was forced to take care of. I was never asked if I wanted to take care of you, no one asked me if I wanted this life in a dumb cave with only you around. I can't even talk to other people because of your stupid lightning powers. I'm tired of seeing your powers, and I'm sick of you using them all the time. Everything has always been about you and your powers, I am sick of it. I'm done with everything, and I'm not coming back. I hope you're happy with how you've made me feel."
What that said, Silver stormed off into a different direction of the forest leaving Blaze alone in silence. She wanted to go after Silver, but after what he had said, she couldn't get herself to run after him. Instead, she just stood there in complete shock. Many things were running through her mind, followed by thousands of questions that she wanted answered, but one question in particular was really bothering her.
Did I just loose my brother?
