After a few weeks had gone by, Blaze took the bandage off her shoulder. She was hoping it would be back to normal, but unfortunately, on the front side of her right shoulder, a burn mark was left. The water that touched her left a scar. Blaze looked down then she let out a sigh. "I hope something like this does not happen again, but I know there has to be more for me to learn about these powers and what I can and can't do." She shook her head and went on with her normal morning.

The days had flown by quickly, before Silver and Blaze knew it, the days had turned into years. Silver was now 19 and had grown into a tall, handsome young man. He had grown taller then Chris, which Chris wasn't very fond of. As for Blaze, she had mastered her lightning powers and used them everyday for whatever she wanted. She still kept them a secret from the rest of the world, only Chris and Silver knew about it, and they planned to keep it that way.

Blazes hair hand grown longer, her dark brown hair almost looked black to the eye. She always had it tied back in a ponytail, she didn't like it getting in her way when she would use her powers.

When Silver had grown up, Chris gave him a job in his store so Silver could start earning some money of his own. Blaze would go with Silver to the store and she would hang around him and Chris while they worked. Sometimes Chris let her help around the store and she would earn a little money.

Chris taught Blaze and Silver to not spend any of their money right now since he was providing everything for them. Chris wanted them to save every penny they were earning, incase something happened to his store and they couldn't get another job. So they did just that, Silver and Blaze both agreed to save their money so that they could one day buy a house of their own. They both wanted to get a house in the forest away from the city, they liked having a peaceful life without any trouble.

With everyday that went by, Chris started to notice that Silver was acting a bit off. He would notice little things that Silver did, things that he never use to do.

One day in the store, Chris was working at the front counter while Silver was restocking some things. Blaze decided to help Silver out so she started to give him a hand. As soon as Silver noticed her helping him, he walked straight over to her and crossed his arms. "I don't need your help Blaze, I can handle this myself. Go play with your lightning powers or something." Silver took the box of food that Blaze was carrying then he walked off to put it away. Blaze tilted her head, she was a bit taken back by what Silver had said. She walked up to the front counter where Chris was and started talking with him, trying to keep her mind off of what Silver had said.

Only a few minutes had passed when Silver walked up to them. "I'm leaving early, I need time alone." Silver left the store before Chris or Blaze could say anything.

"He's been acting off." Chris started to say. "Do you know why?" Blaze shook her head. "No, this is the first time he's acted like this to me. He has been more distant now that I think about it though. I've been doing a lot on my own recently because he won't help much with anything anymore." Chris thought for a moment before speaking. "Maybe he feels left out, have you been using your powers a lot when you're around him?" Blaze shrugged. "Not a whole lot, maybe a little." "I see."

Blaze stayed with Chris until after sunset when the time came to close the store. They both said their goodbyes before leaving and going their own ways. Blaze walked into the forest and went back to the cave where she saw Silver already laying down.

"Are you already going to bed? It's still kinda early." Silver didn't respond but Blaze knew he was awake because she could see his eyes were open. Blaze only shrugged then she went off to get ready for bed.

A few minutes later, Blaze got into her bed made of blankets and pillows that was next to Silvers, then she looked over at him. "Hey Silver, I was practicing with my powers yesterday and I set up some targets. I hit all of them in a row, I didn't miss once. It was pretty co—" "just go to bed." Silver snapped.

Blaze fell silent and didn't say another word. She thought about what Chris had said to her regarding Silver then she sighed before closing her eyes. Blaze tried to fall asleep but she kept thinking about Silver and how much he had changed within the past few years. She was hoping that Silver would one day change back to his old kind and caring self, but she had no idea if he ever would.
