JO
I followed Cesar quietly as he unlocked his door and stepped inside. He held the door open for me, and I took in the cozy, lightly decorated home.
"Okay," he sighed, closing the door behind us.
"Are you hungry?" he asked, walking towards the kitchen, I followed closely behind him.
"Um, yeah, but do you think I could take a bath or something?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah sure." he said, closing the refrigerator. He then led me to a room, presumably his bedroom. I stood in the doorway while he grabbed a t-shirt and shorts from his dresser, along with a towel and a washcloth. He handed them to me.
I set the clothes and toiletries on the closed toilet and locked the door. After living on the street for so long, you learn to be cautious.

After washing up, I turned off the water and dried myself off. I put on the clean clothes Cesar had given me and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I sighed again before gathering my things, and unlocked the bathroom door. I walked into Cesar's room.

"You're being really nice, giving me food and letting me shower, but I can take the pallet. You can have your bed," I said.
"It's just for one night, and I don't mind," he replied.
"Thanks Cesar," I said, smiling warmly.
"No Problem," he replied, returning a smile to me.
I lay down on his bed and pulled up the covers. Cesar got up, and turned off the lights, and then settled back down on the pallet.
"Night, Jo," he said.
"Night, Cesar," I replied
