We didn't talk about it. It didn't make anything awkward or bad really, but I did feel more comfortable around him. He seemed more comfortable around me too, and every now and again he'd even touch me. He'd hold my hand, or wrap his arms around me, or rest his head on mine. He only did it when we were alone or when nobody was looking, so I let him. I was used to holding hands and being affectionate with my friends like that, and we'd only kissed twice, so I kinda pushed it under the rug for a while. It only became problematic when he tried to get me to sit on his lap while we played videogames. I told him that was a no go, and he said that was fine. After that, it was almost like he was testing the water to see how far he could get. He stayed closer than ever during patrols and tried to come over every day. There was one night at work that I couldn't take it and told him I needed him to leave me alone. He said he didn't understand, so I just stopped time and took off. I flew a couple of blocks over and grabbed a few takoyaki before flying up on a building so I could eat in peace.
I landed and started eating, and someone landed on the roof a few stories below me. He looked familiar, but I couldn't place my finger on it. Before I could figure it out, he took off again in the direction of some screaming. It stopped soon after and I figured he had it under control. Mirio kept texting me, but it wasn't anything life-threatening so I responded to tell him I was sorry for running off, but I was working and turned my phone on silent. About ten minutes after I'd finished the takoyaki, I got a page requesting backup and figured I could help someone out. I jumped off the ledge and flew three blocks south to see a hero facing off with three villains. I dropped down behind the villains and punched the ground to draw their attention to me. They all turned, and I realized why the other guy was overwhelmed. One villain had a body made what looked like some shiny rock, another had knives coming out of his arms, and the last looked normal at first but suddenly started sending bolts of electricity from one hand to the other.
I stood, paged Lemillion making sure to send my location with it, stopped time, and grabbed the cuffs on my hip. Electabuzz was an easy capture and Knife Arms wasn't too bad either, but The Rock didn't fit the cuff. I'd already touched him too, which meant he was on the same time as me. He turned around, and let me tell you, he did not look like a happy camper. I unstopped time so I could brace myself, and he just punched my head with no reservation. It didn't hurt, but I flew into the wall and definitely broke a few things. Thankfully, my helmet took the brunt of the hit for my head and fell off when I pulled myself out of the wall. Lemillion came onto the scene and immediately went after Mineral Man. I reset my left arm and hobbled over to the other hero to see if he was okay.
I got closer and saw those distinct yellow goggles, and knelt down to check on Goggle Boy. He seemed to recognize me and pulled his shirt up to show off some deep cuts. I took off the bottom half of my mask and muttered, "Well hello to you too." I worked up as much spit as I could and started licking his arms, chest, and face. His wounds closed quickly and he told me I needed to fix his leg too. I rolled my eyes and took my knife off my belt to cut his pant leg open. I only saw a bruise, but he insisted his thigh was broken, so I told him I'd have to reset it. He told me to do what I needed to so I stuffed some of his scarf in his mouth to keep him from breaking his own teeth, sat on his lap, and pulled his knee away from us. He started screaming and pulling at my costume and I heard a big 'pop' from his leg. Next up was to open up his leg so the saliva could get inside him and heal the bone. I got off of him, balled up some of my cape for him to hold onto, and told him to close his eyes before gouging into his flesh. He screamed some more and I spit into his leg, but that wasn't enough, so I licked the wound, trying not to get too much blood on myself.
Just as luck would have it, that was about the time Lemillion took down Geodude and came over to witness me going down on Eraser's leg wound. He called out my hero name, and I looked up at him. He jumped back and shouted, asking Christ for help. Eraser's wound was healing well, but he was still in a ton of pain. I asked him where it hurt and he kept pointing to his eyes. I squirmed a bit and spit the blood out of my mouth. I got behind him and lowered his head down so I could work easier. I opened an eye, took a deep breath, counted to three, and licked his eye. It worked, but I was thoroughly disturbed, and I still had one eye to go. I mustered up more spit and got it over with, and Eraser sat up and said he was still in pain. I asked where it hurt and he said it was more of an all over pain. "All right, well I can't do much about that. You're gonna have to go see a medical professional for that."
