AN: Hello! I just wanted to give you a quick heads up that this chapter and a couple of the next ones will be a little more sexual, but a little less story-driven, so if the topic makes you uncomfortable it's totally fine to skip! I'll be putting warnings in front of the other chapters as well. The citrus rating is in the chapter name. Happy reading :)
The whole process took about six hours altogether, and once I was done I rushed home to try out outfits with my new hair and see what would work for me. Mirio shot me a text asking if I wanted to meet him for dinner, and I decided to test the power of my new look. Lace stockings on and skirt up, I grabbed my phone and told him to meet me near the cafe from this morning. I chose a diner nearby and sent him the location while picking out seats for us. It was crowded, but one of the oversized tables were free. I was getting tons of stares, but they looked more like I was a delinquent than a star, and I was definitely riding the high of being unknown. Mirio came in and searched around for a moment before I raised my hand to signal him over. He waved back and pulled out his phone, continuing to stand in place. My phone vibrated, and he asked where I was. I took a photo of the blond boy and sent it to him, telling him I'd already waved to him.
He made his way over to me, shining his bright smile while his eyes spelled out his confusion. "June? What's up with the new look?" He made a patting motion over his head, asking about my horns and eye.
"The horns are shaved down, and it's just bangs, the eye is still there, dear." I pulled back the bangs and winked at him with two eyes, making him chuckle.
His smile changed a bit as he sat, "I thought we agreed not to say dear in public anymore."
"Why would I agree to that?"
His voice dipped lower as he leaned closer over the table, "Because I can't be held responsible for whatever happens when you talk to me like that."
"In an affectionate tone? Preposterous." I reached out and rested my hand over the one he'd sat near the middle of the table. "The pet name stays on during the date."
"Fine, but two can play at that game, Princess." He leaned back in his seat and called over the server so we could order drinks. "So, has the committee come to vote, or are they still in hearing?"
"The committee has come to vote."
"And?" He rolled his hand over to lace his fingers in mine.
"The committee was put under a gag order by the plaintiff if you'll remember."
"I did, didn't I? Okay, so when does the gag lift?"
I leaned back and grabbed my drink to take a sip, "I mean whenever you pull it out, but you stated it would last until after the mission."
The bold blond sat straight up and motioned towards me, "That was a foul shot, your honor. When I filed the motion I didn't declare war."
My arms folded over my chest as I fought his claim, "No, but the motion you filed was one of love, and all is fair in love and war." There was a long pause, and for a second I figured I was being a little overbearing, "But, if it's really too much then the jury can take a recess for dinner."
A smile crept across his lips as he spoke, "No, no. Why would I ever want it to stop?"
"Fine, but no more weird judicial role play, I'm not in the right outfit for it."
"We could fix that if you wanted to." I couldn't help but crack up a bit at his statement, making other patrons turn to us. The rest of our dinner went smoothly if only a little rushed. We decided to walk back home since nobody seemed to recognize me and the day had been oddly warm for December. Our banter-filled my chest with warmth, and before we knew it, we'd completely missed our stop and had to get off at a different station. We both laughed at the mistake and resumed our quips, attempting to keep our noise to a minimum as our fellow passengers shot us dirty looks.
